Despite advice from her friends and family that it was a bad idea, last week on Emmerdale, Sarah Sugden secretly went to meet her donor's sister, Chloe.

And this week when her sister's donor reaches out again, Sarah can't help but be drawn in when Chloe offers to tell her anything she wants to know, and soon it seems like a friendship is forming.

Elsewhere, Wendy Posner is horrified when a familiar face shows up in Emmerdale with demands for money.

Wendy has a familiar face in town

As we learn the identity of this stranger, will Wendy be able to find a solution?

Meanwhile, Liv Flaherty's sobriety stint doesn't last too long and crumbling under the pressure, hits the bottle.

But when she wakes up confused and bruised, will it be the wake up call she needs?

Nate Robinson has a surprise for Tracy Metcalfe which doesn't exactly go to plan, and Meena Jutla once again comes between David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden.

CHECK OUT: Emmerdale Monday 23 - Friday 27 August 2021:

The week begins with Wendy coming home to find a familiar face, Russ, waiting for her outside. Russ is clearly angry and tells her she needs to get his inheritance back - or else - and we learn he's Wendy's abusive ex-husband.

Wendy introduces Russ to Victoria and Bob as Harry's grandad and feigns enthusiasm when Russ explains he wants to be part of Harry's life. But it's clear Wendy has been coerced and later we see her beg Russ to stay away from Vic and Harry.

Sarah has been harbouring a secret - that she's been to meet her donor's sister, Chloe. But despite the risks, Sarah and Chloe seem to develop a friendship and when Chloe tells Sarah that she's happy to tell her anything she wants to know about her sister, Sarah's curiosity is peaked.

Sarah heads out for a secret meeting with Chloe but unbeknownst to her, is followed by Noah on his bike. Upset that Sarah hadn't been honest with him, Noah later confronts her and Sarah quickly knows she's been rumbled.

Liv is desperate to overcome her demons and Laurel is determined to help by keeping her away from temptation. But coupled with Laurel's high expectations and Aaron and Vinny constantly referencing her sobriety, the pressure is too much and Liv hits a can of lager in the park.

Liv wakes confused and mortified, with a vague memory of a run in with Noah the night before. Aaron arrives home tells her he found her passed out in the doorway last night. But things go from bad to worse when Gabby tells Liv about her own experience with Noah and they realise they could be dealing with a rape.

Nate is determined to prove his devotion to Tracy and surprises her with a proposal! But far from being excited, Tracy's reaction is one of shock and it's clear her anxieties about caring for Frankie alone are still causing her trauma.

David and Vic are just about getting over their awkwardness when Meena rather forcibly suggests a girls' day out with Vic. While Vic is uneasy about the invite, Meena promises David to take great care of her. What is she up to?

But before all that, here's everything coming up on Emmerdale this week...

April Windsor wants to put on a brave face for Marlon Dingle and Bob Hope on her birthday but the trolling is getting harder to ignore.

On the day of her party, April confides in Cathy Hope that she's worried the troll is going to show up at her house - but who's behind the cruel messages?

Meanwhile Marlon has problems of his own when his card gets declined while trying to pay for April's birthday party.

Liv's stint of sobriety is short lived

Elsewhere, David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden are struggling to agree on a childcare routine but things escalate when Theo Metcalfe goes missing.

Leyla Harding is horrified to find out she's pregnant and worries that telling Liam Cavanagh could put their relationship at risk.

Charity Dingle makes an earnest plea to Mack Boyd and there's a newbie who wants to find everything out about Wendy Posner.
