Actress Sammy Winward may have bowed out of Emmerdale four years ago, but fans of the show still miss her character Katie Sugden. And it's not even just fans of the show who are missing the former wife of Andy Sugden - played by Strictly Come Dancing star Kelvin Fletcher.

The 33-year-old, who starred in the role from 2001 for 14 years, recently revealed that show bosses invited her to return to the soap a couple of years ago... As a GHOST.

She told Inside Soap, "About a year after I left Emmerdale, they asked me to return as a ghost. It was for a scene or two with Andy. I was working, so I couldn’t fit it in. I’d be up for a cheeky little ghost appearance now – if only Kelvin Fletcher was still in Emmerdale!"

Fans were devastated when Katie was killed off, so it's no surprise that she still gets asked about the show, "I get asked all the time when I’m coming back to Emmerdale, and I’m like, ‘I’m dead!’ I’m glad they killed Katie off – it meant it was more final for me. Now, I’m not always wondering if I should go back.

"When they told me, at the end of my time at Emmerdale, that Katie would be killed off, it made sense. When I said to them that I wanted to leave, Katie and Andy were properly back together after all of that drama – and I don’t think she would have left him, unless she died."

With Kerry still unconscious in the hospital after her fall, Amy waits anxiously with Dan and Amelia for news on her condition.

While Kerry remains unresponsive, Amy pays a visit to Tracy's place to collect Kerry's stuff and threatens to tell the police that Tracy is to blame.

After Amy leaves, leaving Tracy worried, Vanessa and Charity try to reassure her that Amy is only trying to scare her and doesn't mean her threats.

Back at the hospital, complications arise when Kerry fails to revive at the doctors first attempt, and Amy fears that her mum may have given up the will to live.

With Kerry's death potentially on her hands, will Tracy be able to hide her guilty conscience, or will she come clean?

Things go from bad to worse when Vanessa, caught up in an argument with Amy, accidentally punches a nurse in the face.

As she's bundled away in handcuffs, everyone is on edge worried that she might tell the police that Kerry and Amy were behind the factory fire while she's in custody.

When she's released the following morning, Vanessa is unreadable and Tracy worries she's let slip – implicating her in the process.

Mandy seamlessly lies and says that she's Lydia – but when Sam and Lydia show up minutes later, even she begins to feel guilty.

Meanwhile, Sam and Lydia are gutted when rival couple Bernice and Liam unknowingly sabotage their entry into the wedding competition.

Kim is rattled when Ryan tells her that he plans to go to the local paper about his grievances with her proposed new outdoor centre, insisting it's disabled facilities aren't good enough.

Desperate to get him on side, Kim instructs Graham to do whatever it takes to persuade Ryan not to sell the story.

Graham and Rhona continue to flirt, and make plans to see each other in the future.
