Tonight's episode of EastEnders has been cancelled with the BBC choosing to air the England Women's World Cup football match instead.

It comes after fans of the long running soap were upset after the show was cancelled last week to make space for the France v South Korea game.

However, the BBC made up for fan disappointment by treating loyal fans to a double-episode treat on Thursday night.

The official EastEnders Twitter account confirmed the news of the double episode. The BBC wrote yesterday, "Tonight, is the night when two eps are o-on. #EastEnders"

However, not to worry if soap viewers missed the announcement as the last episode of the week is already on BBC iPlayer.
