During the episode last night, fans were on the edge of their seats as Mel and Hunter Owen prepared to flee the Square with Jack Branning.

Unfortunately for them he had actually told the police that Hunter murdered his step-dad Ray Kelly on his wedding day to Mel.

Shortly after leaving the Square there was a car chase and when Hunter discovered Jack's betrayal he tried to strangle him in his own car (rude!).

Mel then threatened Jack, Hunter confessed to killing Ray and was charged with murder and Mel burned all the evidence surrounded her ex-husband's death.

The news comes after EastEnders bosses confirmed Hunter would be leaving the Square this year. In tonight's episode viewers will wave goodbye to the beloved Dr Legg who will pass away surrounded by his loved ones.

Next week in EastEnders, Sharon Mitchell attempts to find out what has happened to Keanu Taylor and ends up manipulating Louise Mitchell however the entire family is left stunned when she drops the bombshell - she's pregnant!

Meanwhile it's Doctor Legg's funeral and the residents wave goodbye to him, Masood Ahmed's two nieces arrive in the Walford and cause quite the stir and Tiffany Butcher finally stands up to the gang.

EastEnders airs on Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
