Dancing On Ice's Dan Whiston confirms new format change for semi-final

Just days ahead of the semi final for Dancing On Ice professional skater Dan Whiston has confirmed there will be a change to the format. The new change will involve solo skating!
Writing for OK magazine Dan said, "I'm gonna let you all into a little secret – this week there's solo skating.
"There's an opportunity for each celebrity in one of their routines, because they're gonna do more than one, to perform 30 seconds worth of solo skating – which is a huge ask. They're not allowed near their partner, out on the ice for 30 seconds."
He later added that this would be "scary" for the celebrities who wouldn't be able to rely on their professional skating partner.
We caught up with professional skaters Brandee and Matt to ask them who they thought would win the series. Hear what they had to say below:
Despite the bad weather the remaining celebrities have been busy practising for this weekend's semi-final. Yesterday it was reported that Love Island winner Kem Cetinay and former X Factor star Jake Quickenden were both involved in minor car crashes on the way to training.
Kem took to his Instagram Story to explain what had happened.
He said, "We've had an absolute nightmare this morning, me and Jake were driving to skating in two separate cars down the lanes. Jake's car has spun out, smashed into two cars and I've lost control and did a 360 turn and landed in a bush." sic
After being stuck in a 15 car pile up, Kem and Jake joined forces and decided to abandon their cars, and instead walk to training. The boys found warm clothing in their cars, with Kem wearing a red dressing gown over his clothes.
Back on the ice ITV have released photos of Kem and his skating partner Alex Murphy attempting lifts for the first time. The pair found themselves in the skate-off last weekend so Kem and Alex are keen to impress the judges with some more complicated moves.
Considering Kem was very nervous about taking part in the series when he first started, he's done remarkably well. Talking exclusively to heat magazine last year Kem said "I’m worried about the lifts. All the other blokes are way over six foot, but when I pick up Alex, my professional skating partner, she’s still in front of my face. I’m only 5ft 10!"
He also revealed that he was taking his practising very seriously - even getting up in the middle of the night!
Earlier this month Torvill and Dean confirmed they will be performing during the final show of the series, however they have not confirmed what they will be performing to.
Many fans are hoping they will perform their infamous 'Boléro' which they won a gold medal for in 1984.
