After months of psychological and physical abuse at the hands of her evil husband Geoff Metcalfe in Coronation Street, Yasmeen is left reporting herself to the police after finally seeing red and striking Geoff with a glass bottle out of self defence.

But soon she is arrested and charged with assault, with lawyer Imran Habeeb at a loss and her granddaughter, Alya Nazir, left fuming.

Amy and Asha face the bullies

Elsewhere, Dev Alahan is angry with new girl in town Kelly for heaping so much pressure on his daughter Asha during a difficult time.

But Dev doesn't know the half of it, and when it comes to light that it was actually Kelly who sent the photos round school, Gary Windass jumps to her defence.

But why?

Meanwhile, Adam Barlow and Sarah Platt return from their honeymoon and Asha makes unlikely friends with Nina Lucas.

CHECK OUT: Coronation Street spoilers Monday 4 - Friday 8 May:

At the Rovers, Tim and Sally wonder at Geoff and Yasmeen's abrupt departure but things soon start to become clear when they leave the pub to find police cars and ambulances outside number six.

Yasmeen has called the police and reported herself for "killing" her husband. She's taken into the police station to find a concerned Imran waiting for her there.

Imran asks Yasmeen about her relationship with Geoff and is horrified to learn what's been going on, but is hopeful he can help her.

But when the detective inspectors arrive to formally question Yasmeen, Imran is worried as she falters under the pressure and a bewildered and upset Yasmeen is charged.

Meanwhile, Alya returns from Spain as quickly as she can after hearing the troubling news about her nan. Arriving at the police station, Alya is in a rage.

Asha furiously explains to the police and to Sally and Tim that Geoff has been abusing Yasmeen for months, detailing all his awful behaviour. Will it be enough?

Elsewhere, as Dev learns more about what happened with Asha he starts to formulate his own thoughts about what went on.

When Dev spots Kelly out and about he goes in at her for heaping so much trouble on her - there wasn't a problem before she showed up.

But as insults are flung, Gary steps in to stand up for Kelly and Adam is intrigued about where his loyalties lie.

Asha, Amy and Dev are heading for the community centre when they come across some boys they recognise outside the café who are pointing and laughing at Asha.

Before they know what's going on, Nina has appeared outside the café and is confronting the boys.

Without warning, Nina launches a punch at one of the lads, who make a hasty retreat. Later on Asha opens up to Nina about her low self esteem and the pair bond.

Having worked out that it was Kelly who sent the nude photos of Asha around the school, Paul puts pressure on Billy to kick her out of the flat.

But getting wind of what's going on, Gary steps in and implores Billy to give her another chance, insisting she's just misunderstood.

Meanwhile, David learns of Adam and Sarah's imminent return back to Weatherfield and promises Nick that he'll see him at Max's performance.

But after falling into a deep sleep, David wakes with a start and realises that he's missed Max's speech. Will he be able to forgive him?

Now let's recap on what's happening this week...

Poor Yasmeen Nazir has been suffering at the hands of her abusive husband, Geoff Metcalfe, for months - and every time it looks as though she's gathering the strength to leave, Geoff knocks her back again.

But after a particularly traumatic evening where Geoff forces Yasmeen to wear a sexy dress he'd bought for one of his many escorts, Yasmeen finally hits boiling point: enough is enough.

Tim and Sally speak to police

What will she do?

Elsewhere, Gary Windass gets wind of what Rick Neelan's ex, Claire, is after and has a strong word of warning for her.

Daniel Osbourne returns home with Bertie from his grief retreat, and Asha Alahan begs her dad Dev to withdraw his complaint from the school.
