After his conversation with Billy, Paul wants reassurance from Kel that what they had together was special. In the ginnel, a drunk Paul goes in for a kiss but Kel pushes him off him, and Paul realises with disgust that Kel only fancied him when he was a young boy.
Seeing red, Paul punches Kel, leaving him in a coma. When Kel comes round in hospital Paul comes clean about the attack but doesn't explain the reasons behind it.
When Kel recovers the police quiz him about the attack but Kel lies and says he was jumped by strangers. Though Bernie has agreed not to report Paul, she's disgusted with him and demands answers.
After his release from hospital, Kel tracks down Paul and threatens to beat him up if he ever breathes a word of their relationship to anyone.
Despite Billy imploring Paul to go to the police about Kel's grooming and the threats, Paul tells him he can't drag up old trauma through the past.
Asha begs her dad for more pocket money but he insists it's time she earned her own money and sets her up with some shifts at Primer Doner.
Desperate to buy more skin lightening cream, Asha steals Dev's bank card anyway and orders some online. When Mary clocks on, Asha lies and says she used it to buy make up.
Furious, Dev marches a reluctant Asha to the kebab shop and tells Cathy that Asha will be working some shifts.
Later on, Amy swings by the shop after school with a new boy called Riley. When Asha and Riley hit it off and he asks her out on a date, Asha is thrilled.
After an excruciating chat from Dev and Mary about boys and sex, Asha is excited to be heading off on her date. But when Riley brushes her arm, causing the irritated skin to bleed, a mortified Asha makes her excuses and leaves.
Back at home, Dev has opened Asha's delivery and is horrified to find her order of skin bleaching cream. Completely unaware of his daughter's issues, Dev decides it's time to have a chat.
Dev's heartbroken when Asha tells him she hates how she looks. Ripping down the posters on her wall of light-skinned Bollywood stars, Dev tells Asha that no one looks like that in real life.
As her new job's start date looms, Michelle confides in Robert that Ray made a move on her and has been making her life hell ever since. Robert wants to confront him, but Michelle says to let her fight her own battles.
Meanwhile, Sarah has returned from her trip to Milan and is horrified that Ryan's been beaten up – and that Adam is convinced that Gary is behind it.
Elswhere, Fiz tells Tyrone that she's decided to accept Gary's job offer at the furniture shop. But when Gary catches her writing notes in his private ledger, he panics.
Gary kicks off and fires Fiz on the spot. Offended, Fiz tells Gary to stick his job and storms out – but later on he worries he's made a mistake.
Back at number 9, Evelyn has been growing increasingly suspicious of the family's new cleaner, Jade. Quietly letting herself into the house, Evelyn is shocked to find Jade rooting around in drawers.
A stern Evelyn demands to know what Jade is doing rifling through the family's belongings. Stunned, Jade opens up to Evelyn about her troubled marriage.
She says that without Fiz, she might not have survived and she was looking for a photograph to have framed as a present. Fiz arrives home from her run in with Gary and is surprised to find Jade pouring her heart out to Evelyn.
Without Fiz to help, Gary struggles to run the shop and watch Jake by himself. When Maria offers to look after Jake while Gary works, he's touched, and there's clear chemistry between them.
Meanwhile, Kevin is disappointed to be stood up by his date, an old friend from school. But his spirits are lifted when his sister Debbie pays a surprise visit to Weatherfield.
Debbie has some news to share with Kevin – that their Antie Vi has passed away and left her £200k – what's more, Debbie wants Kevin to have it, but Kevin insists he can't accept it.
Across the bar, Paula has arranged to meet with Sophie for some encouragement before she starts her new course. But when Sophie receives a photo from Kate in Thailand, Paula can tell she's distracted.
Back at home, the family catch up on the sofas and Debbie can tell that Sophie isn't enjoying her course, telling her she should always follow her heart.
Relaxed and happy, Kevin announces that he's made a decision about the money – that he plans to share it equally between himself, Debbie and Sophie.
