Corrie confirm Sophie Webster's exit storyline for Brooke Vincent's maternity leave
She's expecting her first baby!
Coronation Street have now confirmed what Brooke Vincent's exit storyline will be from her role as Sophie Webster as she goes on maternity leave! The 27-year-old, who has played Sophie on the soap since 2004, is expecting her first baby with her footballer boyfriend Kean Bryan.
After announcing the happy news in April 2019, fans of the show began to wonder how Sophie would be temporarily written out of the show - and show bosses have now confirmed what she'll be doing.
It was rumoured last month that Brooke's storyline would be something to do with going travelling, and we now know that Sophie will indeed be going abroad for a few months.
Last night's episode (30th Sept) saw Sophie not exactly enjoy her first day at college, and her girlfriend Paula (played by Stirling Gallacher) noticed that she was looking through photos of Kate Connor on her own travels rather longingly.
This week, Kevin's sister Debbie will return to Weatherfield to break the sad news that their aunt has passed away and has left her £200,000 - but she wants Kevin to have it, who then splits it between himself and his three children.
Paula then suggests that the pair go travelling together - but backs out at the last minute on purpose, in the hope that Sophie will go alone... And she goes to Cambodia!
Sophie and Brooke's last day on the soap will be Wednesday 9th October.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
