With reboots of TV shows such as Wheel of Fortune, You Bet! and Deal or No Deal in recent years, it seems ITV/STV bosses are not slowing down when it comes to bringing back much-loved game shows, with Bullseye next on the list for a comeback!

Is Bullseye getting a reboot?

Darts-themed TV gameshow Bullseye is getting a hugely-antipcated reboot later this year! The only bad news is that it will be a special one-off episode for Christmas, rather than a full series.

Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime Commissioning ITV said: “Bullseye is back and we can’t wait to welcome Freddie Flintoff back to ITV too. It’s a real treat to have both as key parts of our Christmas schedule on ITV1 and ITVX this year.”

Michael Mannes, Managing Director, 12 Yard Productions added: “We are delighted to have acquired the rights to Bullseye, one of the most iconic game shows ever. And the timing could not be better considering the popularity of darts. Freddie is the perfect host for it and we can't wait for the show to be back on ITV.”

Who is hosting the reboot?

It's now been announced that former Cricket star and TV host Freddie Flintoff will take on hosting duties for the special episode.

Freddie said: 'I love the darts and Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid. Can't quite believe I'll get to host this Christmas special. You can't beat a bit of Bully!”

When will it be on TV?

Although there's no official air date just yet, it will be out this Christmas.

What channel is it on?

Bullseye will air on ITV1 and ITVX, and STV1 and STV Player for viewers in Scotland.

When was it originally on TV?

Originally created by Andrew Wood and Norman Vaughan, Bullseye first aired back in 1981, with Jim Bowen going on to host 14 series of the iconic show, before it came to an end in July 1995.

Dave Spikey then hosted a rebooted series in 2006, which was made-up of 30 episodes.

The game also featured on Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow in 2020.
