Bridgerton filming shut down following positive COVID-19 test
Production was suspended
Following the show's mammoth success with series one at the end of last year, Bridgerton fans were over the moon when Netflix confirmed the show had been renewed earlier this year, with filming getting underway for series two in March.
However, as the likes of Simone Ashley and Phoebe Dynevor film for the latest series, it looks like production has been thrown into chaos following a positive COVID-19 test in the production crew.
A Netflix spokesperson told The Mirror: "Following the detection of a positive COVID-19 case within the crew on the production of Bridgerton, filming was immediately paused to allow for an isolated round of testing of everyone involved in the series."
It's understood that filming is now back underway following the break, but no official date of when series two will land has been announced.

Following the show's release on Christmas Day last year, Bridgerton was streamed by an estimated 63 million households across the world, with the period drama hitting the Number 1 spot in Netflix's Top 10 list in a massive 76 countries.
With these figures it's no surprise Netflix bosses were quick to confirm a second series, before going on to announce series three and four.
In March this year, fans were delighted when the streaming giant wrote on Twitter: 'DEAREST READERS, BREAKING NEWS... Bridgerton will return for a second season!' (sic)
Series one of the show followed Phoebe Dynevor's character Daphne Bridgerton enter high society alongside The Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), with series two expected to follow Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), look for a suitable woman to marry.
Actor Luke Newton, who plays Colin Bridgerton in the drama, confirmed filming for series two had begun back in March.
Luke shared a number of images from series one alongside Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton) and Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton), telling his Instagram followers, 'The boys are back in town 🎵 #THROWBACK #SEASON1'. (Sic)
It hasn't yet been confirmed when series two of Bridgerton will land on Netflix, but with the first series taking nine months to film pre pandemic world, we expect it will be early 2022.
