Bridgerton fans spot 'Primark posters and yellow lines' on show 🙈
The series is set in 1813
There's no denying the fact historic period drama Bridgerton has been the most talked about TV show of the last month since it landed on Netflix on Christmas Day, and with news of a second series in the pipeline, fans are very excited!
But as viewers continue to binge series one, or even re-watch the drama which is based on Julia Quinn's novels, many have noticed some filming blunders....
If you are a fan of the show you'll be aware the first series is set in the year of 1813, so you can imagine the shock of viewers when they noticed a single yellow parking line on the cobbled streets in episode one.
Others have spotted things like a no parking sign, a telecoms manhole, filtered cigarettes, modern street lights, and perhaps the most bemusing, a poster for high street store Primark!
Eagle-eyed viewers have taken to Twitter to express their shock and disappointment at the filming blunders...
One viewer wrote online, 'Two episodes into #Bridgerton and I’ve so far spotted a single yellow line and a telecoms manhole cover. I didn’t realise the 19th Century Brits were such pioneers…' (sic)
Another wrote, 'You will spot a Primark poster, a single yellow line parking restriction and a parking sign on a lamppost. Down pipes on the front of buildings which would not have been there and a modern day doorbell. Still a great one to watch though'. (sic)
Another Bridgerton viewer added, 'My sis thought I might enjoy #Bridgerton. Less than 4 minutes in, and there’s modern streetlights and yellow no standing lines visible on The Crescent if you’re going to spend that sort of money on costume etc, at least CGI these out....' (sic)
But despite some of the filming blunders, fans are VERY excited after Netflix confirmed a second series is now in the works.
Announcing the news on Friday 22nd January, Netflix wrote on Twitter, 'DEAREST READERS, BREAKING NEWS... Bridgerton will return for a second season!'. (sic)
The official Bridgerton account also shared the exciting news, writing, 'Prepare for another social season. Bridgerton is returning for season two, only on Netflix.'. (sic)
Whilst the first series showed Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) form a relationship with The Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Pagewith), series two is expected to see some of the background characters take centre stage.
Although filming is due to begin in the Spring, no release date has been announce just yet.
