As we all know by now, Monday 1st August 2022 was a pretty huge day - not only was it the night of the Love Island 2022 final, but we also got the confirmation that Big Brother is officially returning! The infamous show will be making its comeback on ITV in 2023 - but the question on all of our lips now is... Who will host Big Brother?

There are plenty of celebs that would be perfect for the job, so as the excitement builds for the new show, we've taken the liberty of gathering together a list of the rumoured celebrities that could be hosting ITV's Big Brother later on this year.

Who will be hosting Big Brother? The rumoured celebs:

Rylan Clark

Currently seen as the 'favourite' to host the new season of Big Brother is none other than Rylan Clark. Despite many thinking he'll land the job, especially after he stepped down from hosting spin-off show Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, he admitted on Twitter he's 'not been asked'.

Alison Hammond

Who doesn't love Alison Hammond? The loveable This Morning host is another rumoured celeb in the running to host Big Brother, after she competed in the third series of the reality show in 2002 - where she was the second housemate to be evicted.

Olivia Attwood

As one of the most popular contestant to come out of Love Island, Olivia Attwood is also rumoured to be hosting the new series of Big Brother. After proving her TV skills on BBC's Olivia Attwood: Getting Filthy Rich, we have no doubt she'd be perfect for the role! With her shock early exit from I'm A Celeb in 2022, fans are keen to see her back on their screens.

Vernon Kay

Vernon is no stranger to being a host, having fronted shows such as Family Fortunes, Splash! and Game of Talents. After his incredible appearance on I'm A Celeb in 2020, fans would love to see Vernon host Big Brother!

Holly Willoughby

Is there any show Holly Willoughby wouldn't be perfect on?! Holly has won the hearts of the nation with her hosting talents on shows such as This Morning and I'm A Celeb, so it's no surprise she's rumoured for Big Brother 2023!

Phillip Schofield

It seems like the hosts of This Morning may be in high demand, with Holly's co-host Phillip also rumoured to be taking on hosting duties for Big Brother 2023.

Emma Willis

No stranger to the world of hosting Big Brother, many were convinced that Emma would be reprising her role as host! However, she has since spoken out to confirm that it wouldn't be her hosting the show and said: "With every new era of Big Brother, I think there should be a new host."
She told Radio Times: "You know, I loved my time on the show, and I very much kind of said goodbye to it back then because we thought it was over. I don't tend to go back. I like to move forward."
Since hosting the show back in 2013, Emma went on to front other huge shows including The Circle UK.

Davina McCall

Could this be the return of OG Davina McCall on Big Brother?! As we all know, the presenter hosted the show during its legendary run on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010. Now this would be amazing, however she may be a tad busy now that she's the official host of Love Island spin-off The Romance Retreat!

Dermot O'Leary

Of course, it wouldn't be a rumoured celebrity host gallery without Dermot O'Leary. From hosting iconic shows such as The X Factor and This Morning, it's clear Dermot knows what he's doing! Dermz is pretty familiar with the show, having hosted Big Brother's Little Brother back in the day.

Emily Atack

The Inbetweeners actress turned I'm A Celeb star is another rumoured to be in the running. With her funny charm and bubble personality, fans would love to see Emma on the Big Brother screen.

Iain Stirling

Otherwise known as the Love Island voice-over guy, Iain is no stranger to getting the nation laughing. Could Iain's witty banter be just what the Big Brother hosting role needs?

Laura Whitmore

Love Island host Laura Whitmore is another favourite to host the new season of Big Brother, following her success on the ITV2 dating show.

Jedward

Now, we would pay to see this! The Irish duo have even been keen to offer their services up, telling MailOnline that they should be given a shot because 'people are sick of seeing the same faces hosting every show'.

We're here for it, to be honest.

Fearne Cotton

Celebrity Juice star Fearne Cotton has hosted some huge shows in her time, with many thinking that she is the perfect fit for Big Brother 2023!

Gino D'Acampo

Gino's effortless humour has many Big Brother fans convinced that he would be the perfect fit for hosting duties! but fingers crossed it won't affect his cooking segments on This Morning.

Big Brother originally aired on Channel 4 between 2000-2010, before moving to Channel 5 between 2011-2018. In the past, the show has been hosted by the likes of Davina McCall, Brian Dowling and Emma Willis.

When does Big Brother start?

Big Brother will air on ITV2 this year (2023).

Announcing the exciting news, ITV said of the revived series: 'The Big Brother house has a brand new home, as the global television phenomenon makes its much anticipated return to UK television and moves onto ITV2 and ITVX from 2023.

'A new cast of carefully selected housemates, from all walks of life, will take up residence in the world’s most famous reality TV home for up to six weeks, with cameras capturing their every move, and the nation following every twist and turn.

'The action will all play out under the roof of the iconic Big Brother house, which will be given its own contemporary new look ready for this reimagining of the show. Clever tasks, nail-biting nominations and live evictions will be back, with the public once again playing a crucial role, voting throughout the series and ultimately determining the winner, who will walk away with a life changing cash prize.'
