Ahead of the arrival of the rebooted series of Big Brother, ITV/STV bosses promised fans the new series would feature a diverse cast from all walks of life, and it was clear to see they delivered their promises during the launch show with hosts AJ Ododu and Will Best.

But as the 2023 cast settled into the fancy new Big Brother house, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a lot of the housemates were very familiar looking, with a few of them having appeared on TV shows in the past.

What TV shows have the Big Brother housemates been on?

Farida

50-year-old Farida is the oldest housemate in the BB house this year.

Farida - Blankety Blank

Just weeks before entering the house, Farida featured as a contestant on the 2023 series of Blankety Blank, which is hosted by Bradley Walsh!

Farida - Come Dine With Me

Blankety Blank wasn't the only show Farida has taken part in! Way back in 2009, the make-up artist from Wolverhampton also featured on an episode of hit Channel 4 series Come Dine With Me. Her episode synopsis reads: 'It's day one of the competition in Wolverhampton and bubbly beautician Farida Khalifa is planning to immerse her guests in authentic Indian culture.'

Kerry

40-year-old Kerry entered the BB house on a mobility scooter due to her suffering from multiple sclerosis, and admitted she'd never applied for past series due to accessibility issues.

Kerry - Deal or No Deal

A huge 16 years before entering the Big Brother house, NHS Manager Kerry appeared as a contestant on Channel 4 game show Deal or No Deal, where she won a steady £35,000!

Dylan

39-year-old Dylan made history when he become the first housemate to enter the house with a prosthetic leg. The DJ sadly lost his right leg after a motorbike accident in Tenerife in 2015.

Dylan - The Last Leg

Before his appearance on Big Brother, Dylan told producers he'd previously been a guest on Channel 4 show The Last Leg. He said: "I appeared on a TV show called The Last Leg about amputees - two years before I lost my leg!"

Noky

26-year-old banker Noky is bringing both brains and beauty to the BB house...

Noky - Great Britain at Miss Universe

Although she's a banker, Derby girl Noky has previously represented Great Britain at Miss Universe! She told BB bosses ahead of her appearance on the show: "I also want to show what it's like being a woman who's worked in male-dominated fields. I want to show that women are capable of doing anything they want."

Zak

28-year-old Zak moved to the UK from Thailand when he was just 10-years-old, admitting his life story usually surprises people.

Zak - ASOS

Although Manchester lad Zak hasn't appeared on any other TV shows, eagle-eyed Big Brother fans have recognised him off the ASOS website! Zak models a number of items on the online shopping giant's website.

Zak is also a model for boohooMAN.

Tom

21-year-old Tom brought the chilled vibes into the Big Brother house, whilst also pulling the odd prank here and there.

Tom - Kavos Weekender

Tom appeared on ITV2's Kavos Weekender, decked out in a Hawaiian shirt alongside his pal Liam. Despite appearing rather chill on Big Brother, Tom described himself on Kavos Weekender as "high-maintenance", whilst also boasting about his mullet. If you want to check him out on the show, just head to series one episode seven.

Following the launch show on Sunday 8th October 2023, viewers were torn over the cast, with many complaining there was too many housemates in their 20s.

However, it was 18-year-old Hallie who stole headlines in the first week, after she bravely opened up to group to reveal she is a transgender women, going on to admit she would like to use the £100,000 prize money to undergo gender affirmation surgery.

Following Hallie's reveal, the housemates were also praised by viewers for going around the group to declare their pronouns, to avoid any discrimination and mis-judgement.

Big Brother series two began on 6th October 2024, and continues every weeknight at 9pm on ITV2/STV2.
