After Big Brother bosses promised this year's show would go back its old roots, with contestants from all backgrounds, many viewers took to social media to express their opinion.

Some fans loved the cast, including certain individuals like Kerry, Jenkin, Farida, and Yinrun.

One wrote: 'KERRY OUR ICONIC QUEEN', with another writing about Yinrun: 'She’s a contender!' Speaking about 50-year-old Farida, another wrote: 'She's a queen! love seeing ppl that aren’t love island wannabes'. (sic)

However, others weren't happy with the amount of contestants in their 20s, with a number of viewers thinking they'd applied for fame only.

Speaking about former Miss Universe GB Noky, one said: 'She is a “celebrity” - we don’t need her', with another saying about dancer Olivia: 'Get her out. Absolute rubbish. Tried to make the night all about her.' (sic)

Another wrote: 'There is not enough diversity in age. Too many youngsters as per usual big brother'. (sic)

As fans will know, there was a huge twist during the launch show, which saw Welsh contestant Jenkin pick Olivia to become the first housemate to be up for eviction during Friday night's show, leaving her fuming to say the least...

However, Big Brother has given Olivia an opportunity to save herself, if she can prove to the rest of housemates she's not the least entertaining.

Big Brothers airs every weeknight at 9pm on ITV2/STV2.
