EastEnders fans are in for a massive treat! We've already seen the return of Big Mo, viewers will soon see Kat Moon and Jean Slater rock up on the square, and now it's been revealed that Alfie Moon is returning to EastEnders.
The last time we saw Alfie, who is played by actor Shane Richie, was alongside his wife last year during the BBC One spin-off show Redwater. Viewers were left wondering whether the couple had survived after Alfie had an operation on his brain tumour and Kat fell off a boat following an altercation with her long lost son.
Fans of the show were delighted when it was revealed that Kat is returning to the square (Jessie Wallace even teased her Twitter folllowers with her comeback), and now her on-screen husband will follow behind her.
According to new reports, Shane Ritchie is set to start filming within the next couple of weeks, with a TV insider revealing bosses at EastEnders have worked their magic to convince the actor to return to Walford.
However, despite this, reports are suggesting Shane's return won't be long-term.
The exciting news comes as Kat is set to return to Walford in tonight's double bill episode (Thursday 22nd March). While the rest of the residents are mourning the infamous character who is thought to be dead, Kat returns to the square and get the shock of her life when she turns up at her own wake.
We can't wait to see how everyone copes with her arrival.
Now that Jean and Alfie are on their way to Walford, all we need now is Lynne Hobbs and Little Mo and the Slaters/Moons will finally be reunited!
EastEnders airs weekdays on BBC1.
