With filming for the 2020 I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here launch show due to begin on Friday, excitement ahead of the 20th series is certainly building, especially after hosts Ant and Dec shared a snap of themselves at Gwrych Castle, Abergele in North Wales.

Although 10 famous faces, including Sir Mo Farah, Beverley Callard and Shane Richie, were announced last weekend, former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard was in doubt for the show after he reportedly tested positive for Covid-19.

However, after the brother of Love Island's Curtis Pritchard self-isolated ahead of the launch, it's now been confirmed he will take part, after taking another test which resulted in a negative result.

A spokesperson for AJ told the Mail Online, “It is a huge relief, luckily AJ hasn't suffered at all with the virus – and was able to recover quickly.

“Thankfully his test result has come back negative so he has been given the all clear to go ahead with the show. He is so excited to take part, a positive test result at this last stage would have been devastating.”

Check out all of the confirmed celebs for this year's I'm A Celeb:

Meanwhile, despite most of the celebs who enter the jungle (and now the castle) being scared of doing the famous Bushtucker trials, it sounds like AJ is very excited to take them on.

Writing on Instagram following Sunday night's announcement, AJ urged his fans to vote for him, admitting he would like 'do as many trials as possible'.

He said, 'I’m absolutely ecstatic to be taking part in @imacelebrity 🤩.. this has always been a childhood dream of mine to take part in, as I have watched every series. I can’t wait for everyone to get to know me more. I want to do as many trials as possible in the castle 🏰 to make you all laugh with/ at me, during this tough time of lockdown 2.0. #enjoy Lots of Love, see you at 9pm every night @itv ..
