After what seems like forever, Ricky Gervais' comedy-drama After Life is back for a third series, with six brand new episodes!

The series is created, written and directed by The Office star Ricky Gervais and is based in the little fictional town of Tambury. Let’s not forget Tony’s dedicated German Shepherd best mate, Brandy.

The hit series follows a man called Tony (played by Ricky Gervais) whose life is turned upside down when his wife sadly dies from breast cancer, and follows his grieving process.

All through the series, Tony's beloved late wife Lisa, played by Kerry Godliman, has attempted to guide him through life without her via videotapes filmed before she died.

Ricky announced the release date back in 2021, telling his fans: 'Thank you, you played a blinder.

'You watched it, more of you, and faster, than you watched season 1. And that's only after one week. And they are the best company in the world, Netflix… They're f**king amazing.'

He added: 'It's hard to say yes because it's a lot of work and you don't want it to diminish.'

However, the news is bittersweet as Ricky has confirmed that this series will be the last.

The multi-talented actor and writer told The Mirror: “I've already made my mind up there won't be a four.

“And you do put those things out there to make you remember as it's tempting but… there's an old saying: 'To lead the orchestra, you've got to turn your back on the audience.'

"That's true. The audience think they want another one, but they're not sure. So you've got to be careful."
