1st April is a time for April Fools - if they're before midday of course! And whilst many of us love to play some pranks on our friends and workmates, some celebrities, such as Vicky Pattison, Sam Smith and Lucy Mecklenburgh, also like to play some jokes on their loyal fan following.
With everything from Harry Potter stars Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe being in a relationship, to Gigi Hadid's 'new' hairstyle, here are the best celebrity April Fool's pranks that have ever been played...
2018: Tom Hardy as James Bond
There have been many rumours over who would take over from Daniel Craig as James Bond, so Tom Hardy took things into his own hands posting a photo on Instagram captioned, 'Dammit I was in my tux and on the runway GTG… no drama.'
2017: Gigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid posted a photo of her herself with a new hair do. She originally posted the photo with the scissor emojis, but updated later on to say it was a prank.

2015: Geordie Shore and Cheryl Tweedy
Geordie Shore tried to fool us into thinking Cheryl Cole would be 'parachuted' into the house in Season 10 to join the likes of Charlotte Crosby and Gary Beadle. Can you imagine?!

In probably the best celebrity prank of the day, Vicky Pattison and The Mirror teamed up to report that she was off to LA, to become Kim Kardashian's new personal trainer.
2015: Sam Smith
Sam Smith caught some of his followers out by tweeting that he was actually straight, nearly 35,000 retweeted it.
2015: Tom Felton
Tom Felton made a loads of teenagers' hearts skip a beat, when he announced on Instagram that he and fellow Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe were actually a couple!
2015: Lucy Mecklenburgh
Lucy Mecklenburgh was very proud of her partnership with Tesco and their new trampoline aisles. Look at this fantastic tweet! Tesco later replied saying, 'Glad you're loving it @lucy_meck! It's going to revolutionise the shopping experience. (And shopping was already pretty fun!)'.
2014: Ellen DeGeneres
Ellen DeGeneres pretended she had an accident on the way to work. Equipped with her neck-brace, Ellen talked to her audience about what had happened to her on the way into the studios. Then, she exclaimed her 'sudden realisation' that it was April Fool's Day, removed the neck accessory and the audience exhaled with relief.
2014: Laura Whitmore
Back in 2014, Laura Whitmore scared everyone by pretending she and Joe Swash had had a secret leprechaun baby.
2014: One Direction
The Mirror got in on all the 1st April spirit back in 2014. They released a story about One Direction, claiming that they wouldn't be allowed to enter North Korea until they'd each had a hair cut. Thankfully it was all a joke and the 1D lads kept their luscious locks.
