University. It's a place we go for education and to develop life skills, but it's also a time of our lives that we'll never forget for the people, relationships and life experiences. However, there are some things, those really surreal things, that will never happen anywhere else...

Make sure you don't miss our Throwback Weekend!

1. Becoming VERY familiar with the inside of a library

If you were one of those people (and who wasn't), who always cut the deadlines very fine, you might have even found yourself sleeping there.

2. Pyjamas are not just for sleeping in

It's the only time in our lives when wearing jeans and a T-shirt would be considered formal wear.

3. You get discounts on everything

Remember walking into any bar, restaurant or shop and waving your special card? A student discount card could get so many freebies and discounts including a free burger, and money off clothes.

4. Disney becomes a part of your life again

You're not sure why, but you rediscover your love for Disney films along with your housemates. Warning: Mufasa's death doesn't get any easier.

5. Too. Much. Caffeine.

Whether it's energy drinks or coffee, that caffeine rush becomes a little too much and you can't face anymore of it.

6. The only items in the fridge are alcohol, leftovers and cake

We're not sure that's a balanced diet.

7. House parties

In a time when social distancing and self-isolating wasn't a thing, students used to have house parties, and often the host of the party wouldn't know a lot of the people!

Now you would never entertain having random people in your lounge!

8. Freshers week

It's the annual week when Ibiza comes to your university town. Students go on pub crawls and dress up in weird and wonderful costumes.

9. There are odd items in your flat

How did that traffic cone get there?

You probably had an array of random objects that you brought back after a night out with friends, hands up, who had a cardboard cutout?

10. Waking up next to a bucket

Oh no, not again!
We all know to drink responsibly, but back in our student days sometimes we only remembered the morning after.

11. All nighters

Ah, all nighters, not the fun ones where you party, but those where you left that essay far too late. We've all been there, admit it!

12. You become best friends with people you'd never normally speak to

University brings together people from all walks of life and broadens your mind to new and wonderful people.

13. You now have two places you call home

You will grow to love the place you study and create some amazing memories there. So now you have two homes!

14. You stop caring how you look when you dance

Seriously these shapes you're throwing look far better in your head than to others, but you don't care.

15. Getting to dress like you go to Hogwarts on graduation

After a number of years having fun and of course working hard, it all pays off with the graduation. Just make sure you don't fall over and spend the day in A&E! Of course, the graduation is probably one of the best perks. That and the degree.
