At the end of March 2022, the sad news that The Wanted's Tom Parker had died was announced by his wife Kelsey, and the band, with tributes flooding in from around the globe.

Tom had just finished touring with the rest of the band on their 'Most Wanted - The Greatest Hits' tour. The singer missed the first few dates of the tour due to his cancer treatment in Spain overrunning, when he reunited with the band on stage, he shared this emotional message. This article was written before the sad news of Tom's death.

After an emotional reunion in Bournemouth, on stage with Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes, Tom took to his social media accounts to share some emotional photos.

Posting a photo of himself on stage, sitting in a red throne surrounded by two of band, he wrote: 'Me n the lads'. (sic)

Then, while the band were in Cardiff, he followed his previous post with one in front of the Welsh flag with Max George saying: 'Let’s do this Wales 🦾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿'.

That photo was also included along with some others, in a series of pics shared overnight saying: 'Me me the man himself'. The photos included one of all the members of the band next to Tom, with Jay and Max wearing the Welsh flag around their necks.

In response to Tom's post, bandmate Max George wrote: 'My man ❤️❤️', followed by hundreds of comments of encouragement from fans. One wrote: 'Tom I'm so proud of you!! It's great to see you on stage again!! ❤️❤️❤️', with another saying: 'You are an inspiration ❤️ amazing!'.

Just on Thursday 3rd March, Tom told his fans the sad news that he wouldn't be able to join the rest of the band as their tour started in Glasgow.

Sharing a photo of the five members of the band, Tom wrote: 'So, as most of you know, I’ve been out in Spain on a treatment programme for the past couple of weeks. It was only meant to last 20 days but due to a couple of logistical changes with tests and results it won’t be complete until the end of the week now which has delayed our journey home.'

He went on to explain that he had to complete his course of treatment and would be returning for the tour as soon as he could, ending his statement saying: 'Can’t wait to see you all very soon, hope you all enjoy the show.'

It was back in October 2020 that Tom first revealed he had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour at the age of just 32.
