He's one of the biggest musicians on the planet so it's no surprise fans were super HYPED for the arrival of The Weeknd's new album 'Dawn FM', when it landed back on Friday 7th January 2022.

Now a year later he has celebrated the album's release by sharing a new video, for 'Is There Someone Else?'

Here we take a look at The Weeknd's most recent album 'Dawn FM'...

After weeks of promo, The Weeknd shared the album's cover art, simply writing: 'album out now (link in bio)', the artwork showed an aged singer with grey hair and a grey beard.

Fans were clearly loving the new album, with one writing: 'ALBUM OF THE YEAR'. Another commented: 'THANK YOU KING', with a third writing: 'My brother congratulations once again on another masterpiece! 🥂'.

The Weeknd, real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, delighted his fan base by teasing the album, dropping the official track list which included 16 brand new songs, including 'Gasoline', 'Out Of Time', and 'How Do I Make You Love Me?'.

The one-minute long promotional video showcased a tune by The Weeknd, as the words 'A new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd' popped up on screen.

The Weeknd and Sia collaborated in 2013 when he appeared on her song 'Elastic Heart' alongside Diplo.

Ariana Grande (2023)

The Weeknd and Ariana Grande released another collaboration together called 'Die For You' in 2023. The song is a remix of The Weeknd's 2017 song, and fans were delighted to see the pair team up once again.

Madonna

The Weeknd, Madonna and Playboi Carti teamed up in February 2024 on the catchy track 'Popular'. The song went viral on TikTok, as well as the music video amassing almost 8 million views within just a few days.

What are his previous albums?

'Dawn FM' is The Weeknd's fifth studio album, having previously released 'Kiss Land' (2013), 'Beauty Behind the Madness' (2015), 'Starboy' (2016), and 'After Hours' (2020).

Is 'Dawn FM' after of a trilogy?

On Monday 10th January 2022, three days after the release of the album, The Weeknd teased that it was part of a trilogy. In a tweet that featured a picture of the singer in aged up prosthetics, he wrote ' I wonder… did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?'

No more details have been provided, leading some to speculate that 'After Hours' was potentially the first part of this trilogy, meaning there will be a third and final part to follow. Whatever the case, new music from The Weeknd is never a bad thing.
