The BRIT Awards 2021 with Mastercard takes place at London's O2 on Tuesday 11th May, and although most winners will be announced on the night, International superstar Taylor Swift has been made aware of her most recent win ahead of the ceremony.

Taylor, who is also nominated in this year's International Female Solo category, alongside the likes of Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, MIley Cyrus and Cardi B, has been crowned the first ever female winner of the BRITs Global Icon award.

The highest BRITs accolade will be awarded to Taylor in recognition of her immense impact on music across the world and incredible repertoire and achievements to date. According to the Official Charts Company, Taylor is the UK’s biggest selling artist of the year to date in 2021.

In previous years, the likes of David Bowie, Elton John and Robbie Williams have all received the award, with 31-year-old Taylor making history by becoming the first female winner.

As well as Coldplay opening the spectacle, the likes of Dua Lipa, The Weekend, Olivia Rodrigo, Headie One, Arlo Parks and P!nk will all perform on the night, in an arena which will have a 4000-strong crowd, making it the first major live music event with an audience since March 2020.
