Sigala also took to his socials to tell his fans the new song was out tweeting, 'Today is a good day 😁 Lasting Lover with the incredible @JamesArthur23 is OUT NOW! Let me know what you guys think 💙'.

Sigala and James started teasing their song in August, speaking about his new song, Sigala, whose real name is Bruce Fielder revealed it has a very famous songwriter behind it, "This song was actually written by Lewis Capaldi, and so I first heard it as an acoustic track."

Who wrote Sigala and James Arthur's 'Lasting Lover'?

Sigala and James Arthur's 'Lasting Lover' was actually written by Lewis Capaldi! Talking about the song's beginnings in a recent interview, Sigala explained, "It came to me as a ballad, with just guitar and his (Lewis Capaldi) voice on it, I worked on it a bit and I got in touch with James from there, to see if he wanted to sing it."

The DJ also explained the meaning behind the song saying, "It's about rekindling love with a past loved one, bringing them back into your life and realising that it was meant to be."

How did the collab happen?

Speaking about the collab, Sigala said, "It has been a very fun journey to take it to where it is now. I have wanted to work with James Arthur for ages, as I love his voice, but because the song came together during lockdown, I wasn’t actually able to meet James in person, so we worked across Zoom for a long time and finally met on the set for the music video - luckily we got on just as well in real life!

"You may also be able to tell, I am a massive MGMT fan, so it’s been really cool to be able to blend everything together, and I hope everyone enjoys the result."

What number did Sigala and James Arthur's 'Lasting Lover' get to in the UK charts?

'Lasting Lover' reached Number 27 in the UK and Number 1 in Scotland.

'Lasting Lover' is the follow-up to Sigala and Becky Hill's 'Heaven On My Mind', and James' first single of the year, following on from his 2019 song 'Quite Miss Home'.

Back in 2019 at Hits Live we spoke to Sigala who told us who he would like to collab with with the DJ revealing, "I've been thinking, I've done a lot of female vocals, I'm thinking maybe the next one should be like James Arthur, or Lewis Capaldi, a big male vocal with some soul!"

'Lasting Lover' is out now.
