Lewis Capaldi announced the 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent' tour along with the album of the same name at the end of 2022. The album became the fastest-selling record of 2023, and fans couldn't wait to see Lewis on his UK tour dates this summer.

However, after taking three weeks off of performing ahead of his Glastonbury 2023 performance on the Pyramid Stage, Lewis struggled through the set, eventually relying on the willing audience to sing his final songs.

The Scot has now made the decision to take time off from performing fully to concentrate on his mental health and also deal with his recent diagnosis of Tourette's Syndrome. Here's everything we know so far about the tour.

Lewis cancelled shows ahead of his Glastonbury performance

Lewis had been scheduled to perform some intimate shows earlier in June, but announced that he'd be cancelling them in the run up to Glastonbury 2023, at which he was set to perform a late afternoon slot on the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday.

However, he announced that he'd be cancelling them the day beforehand, writing on his Instagram Story: 'I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all of the other incredible shows coming up so that I'm able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come.

'I need to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend some time with my family and friends and do normal life things that are an important part of me feeling better. I hope everyone understands.'

Lewis' Glastonbury 2023 set

Lewis took to the stage at Worthy Farm and made it through most of his set, but towards the end of his performance, his voice began to falter and he was visibly struggling with tics following his recent diagnosis of Tourette's.

He apologised to the crowd, but they were hugely supportive and sang the remainder of his song for him in a show of true admiration and love.

Lewis cancels tour dates after Glastonbury

Three days after Glasto, Lewis took to Instagram to announce that he'd be stepping back from touring for the foreseeable, citing the need to pay some attention to the Tourette's and his mental health.

He wrote: 'I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I'd hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out. But the truth is I'm still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette's and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come.

'I'm so incredibly sorry to everyone who had planned to come to a show before the end of the year but I need to feel well to perform at the standard you all deserve. Playing for you every night is all I've ever dreamed of so this has been the most difficult decision of my life. I'll be back as soon as I possibly can.'
