Justin Timberlake's sixth album 'Everything I Thought It Was' has finally arrived, and the singer has described the album as a "return to home", while opening up in a recent video shared on his Instagram.

The singer, whose latest album features his new song 'No Angels', and a collab with *NSYNC called 'Paradise', explained how as he's been travelling for most of his life, "home is really where the heart is".

He went on to explain: "Sonically, it's kind of taking a lot of the sounds that I've incorporated into my albums and pushing them into the future, into one collective body of work. So, I'm excited for you guys to hear it."

On the album's release day, Justin also shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos, telling his fans: 'My sixth studio album Everything I Thought It Was comes out at midnight (ET). This album is a culmination of where I’ve been and where I’m going - and I’m so grateful and nervous and excited to put it out into the world for you all. Thank you for the love, it truly means so much to me 🫶🏻'.

What do the songs sound like on the new album?

Ahead of the release of his album, Justin shared a number of preview clips from his album. Celebrating his 43rd birthday on 31st January, the singer told fans that because it was his birthday, 'nobody could tell him what to do', so he was going to share this clip.

The clip is an interlude from a song, which Justin calls his 'favorite interlude on my new album EITIW'. (sic)

In response to the clip, Timbaland, who teamed up with JT and Nelly Furtado on 'Keep Going Up' last year, wrote: 'Let’s gooooo' (sic) as well as sharing a Happy Birthday gif.

A fan then wrote: 'The JT Interlude is baccckkkkkkk!', (sic), with another saying: 'If this is just a snippet… I can only imagine how great whole album is going to sound like. 🙌 Happy Birthday Justin! 🙌'.

Then, in early March, Justin also previewed the fourth track called 'Play'.

What is Justin Timberlake's new album called?

JT's new album is called 'Everything I Thought It Was', he announced it earlier this year. Justin performed his song 'Selfish' on stage earlier this year, as well as treating fans to a teaser trailer featuring Benicio Del Toro. Justin captioned the video: 'Justin Timberlake Presents: “EVERYTHING I THOUGHT IT WAS” Preface by Benicio Del Toro'.

The trailer showed a model car being pushed along a model desert scene, featuring a service station. Narrated by actor Benicio Del Toro, he says: "What do we have here? Ooh, that's a nice car! Wait, it's a model. Did that say JT? OK that sunset is definitely not real. Ahh, there is Justin... why won't he turnaround? What the f--k is he staring at?"

The trailer then displays the words: 'Everything I thought It Was'.

Justin's sixth studio album 'Everything I Thought It Was' was released on 15th March.

What does EITIW stand for?

Justin first started teasing the acronym EITIW in January, but without further explanation many fans were speculating on Reddit as to what it could mean.

Although it hadn't been confirmed at the time, many people on Reddit suggested it stood for 'Everything I Thought It Was', which was later confirmed in a post.

The first post where Justin used the caption 'EITIW' was posted in January and showed a series of photos with the cryptic caption.

The first photo showed a missing persons poster, upside down, with Justin's name, along with some details and a black square where his face should be.
