Justin Bieber has teamed up with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir to raise funds and pay tribute to our amazing NHS.

In 2015, Justin and the NHS Choir were neck and neck in the race to become Christmas Number One and five years later they are reuniting for a special collaboration in a year that we really need it.

The unusual friendship happened when Justin’s hit single ‘Love Yourself’ was battling it out for the top spot against the NHS choir’s ‘A Bridge Over You’. Once the Grammy-Award winning singer heard the story behind the track he urged his fans to go and download the choir’s single to secure them the number one spot.

In a viral tweet, Justin said to his millions of followers, ‘So for 1 week it's ok not to be #1. Let's do the right thing & help them win. It's Christmas. @Choir_NHS good luck.’

As a result the NHS single took the top spot in the final hours and an unlikely relationship was formed between Justin and NHS Lewisham and Greenwich choir, they even met up.

Following a year where we have needed our amazing NHS more than ever, Justin and the NHS choir have reunited to pay tribute to the heroes of our health service.

Justin and the Choir have come together to record a version of his hit single ‘Holy’ at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios, to raise funds for the NHS.

“It’s great to be reunited with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS choir, as we share a fun bit of UK chart history together,” said Justin.

He added, “Especially in these difficult times, I’m humbled to team up with them for a charity single that will benefit the NHS workers on the frontlines of this pandemic and pay tribute to their unbelievable dedication.” We couldn’t agree with Justin more.❤️

Leader of the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir, Caroline Smith said, “Justin Bieber helped make our dreams come true in 2015 and he’s doing the same this year; we really can’t thank him enough for the chance to work with him on this wonderful, uplifting song.”

We absolutely love this story and the friendship formed between the NHS Choir and Justin for such an incredible cause!

‘Holy’ by Justin Bieber and the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir is out this Friday (18th) December with all profits going to NHS Charities Together and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Charity.
