Inverness Sensation Signs Record Deal Following TikTok Viral Hit

Following the release of a small clip of ‘Complex’ (Demo) earlier in the spring, Highlander, Katie Gregson-MacLeod has signed a record deal with Columbia Records who boasts the likes of Adele, Harry Styles and fellow Scot, Calvin Harris.

Through Columbia Records, the young talent has shared the demo of her highly anticipated new single, ‘Complex’ (Demo).

Katie Gregson-MacLeod, a former employee of Perk Coffee & Doughnuts on Church Street in Inverness’s original TikTok video inspired covers by artists such as Camilla Cabello, Lauren Spencer-Smith, Tom Walker amongst countless others.

That very same cafe was the scene of a mad dash for Katie Gregson-MacLeod's signature as three record execs arrived at the cosy coffee to wait for her to start her shift.

As of writing, that sensational TikTok video has received over 7 million views, 1 million Likes and has been commented on more than 18,000 times. Comments include, ‘so good’ from Jonas Brothers star, Joe Jonas & Canadian singer Lennon Stella, from the hit TV show Nashville who remarked, ‘wow wow.’

Also, the spine tingling listen received love from the official MTV & Spotify TikTok accounts.

With comparisons to Drivers License, the debut single by American artist Olivia Rodrigo, ‘Complex’ (Demo) is a touching yet heart-breaking song dedicated to a complicated story of love.

The release of ‘Complex’ (Demo) follows on from her appearance at this summer’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival where the Highlander opened up the Hot House stage on the Friday.
