All of The Hits UK Chart Number 1s in 2023

What a year it's been for music in 2023, with huge songs from Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's 'Miracle', to Dua Lipa's Barbie hit 'Dance The Night' and of course some of the Christmas songs creeping into the Top 10 in December, with The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - 'Fairytale of New York' becoming a Number 1 for two weeks in December. However, it was Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' which became the 2023 Christmas Number 1.
The Hits UK Chart started back in May 2023 on MFR, so take a look through all of the amazing songs which have topped the chart since May.
All of The Hits UK Chart Number 1s in 2023:
21st May - Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - 'Miracle'
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding were the first Number 1 on the Hits UK Chart with Sam Thompson. The pair released their banger 'Miracle' back in March.
28th May - Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - 'Miracle'
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding enjoyed a second week at Number 1 on the Hits UK Chart with Sam Thompson.
4th June - Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - 'Miracle'
Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding continue their reign at the top of the Hits UK Chart with Sam Thompson, and we love it on MFR too!
11th June - Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - 'Miracle'

It's another week at the top for Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding with 'Miracle'. The rest of the Top 5 remain the same too this week, with Kylie's 'Padam Padam' enjoying another week at Number 2.
9th July - Kylie Minogue - 'Padam Padam'
Kylie Minogue managed to end Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding mammoth reign at the top of the Hits UK Chart with Sam Thompson.
Kylie's song 'Padam Padam' comes from her upcoming album 'Tension' due for release in September.
16th July - Kylie Minogue - 'Padam Padam'
Kylie Minogue has enjoyed a second week at the top of the Hits UK chart with Sam Thompson with 'Padam Padam'.
23rd July - Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - 'Miracle'
It's a return to the top spot of the Hits UK chart for Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding! Their track 'Miracle' is back at Number 1.
30th July - Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding - 'Miracle'
It's another week at the top spot for Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding! 'Miracle' is at Number 1 on the Hits UK Chart.
6th August - Dua Lipa - 'Dance The Night'
Dua Lipa sees her first week at Number 1 in the Hits UK Chart with her song 'Dance The Night', which is featured in the Barbie film.
13th August - Dua Lipa - 'Dance The Night'
Dua Lipa stays at the top of the chart for a second week in a row, with her song from the Barbie movie, 'Dance The Night'.
20th August - Dua Lipa - 'Dance The Night'
Dua Lipa enjoyed another week at the top with her huge Barbie hit 'Dance The Night'.
27th August - Dua Lipa - 'Dance The Night'
It's been a full four weeks of Dua Lipa at the top of the chart with her huge Barbie hit 'Dance The Night'.
3rd September - Dua Lipa - 'Dance The Night'
Once again Dua keeps some other strong contenders off the top of The Hits UK Chart.
10th September - Calvin Harris and Sam Smith - 'Desire'
After hovering around in the Top 10, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith have now topped The Hits UK Chart.
17th September - Doja Cat - 'Paint The Town Red'
Doja Cat reached the sunny heights of the Hits UK Chart, on 17th September, with her song 'Pain The Town Red'.
24th September - Doja Cat - 'Paint The Town Red'
Doja Cat remained at Number 1 in The Hits UK Chart for a second week with her song 'Paint The Town Red'.
1st October - Doja Cat - 'Paint The Town Red'
'Paint The Town Red' has made it to three weeks at the top of the Hits UK Chart.
8th October - Doja Cat - 'Paint The Town Red'
For another week, Doja Cat kept her spot at the top of the Hits UK Chart, with 'Paint The Town Red'.
15th October - Doja Cat - 'Paint The Town Red'
It's another week for Doja Cat at Number 1 on the Hits UK Chart, this time Taylor Swift drops to fourth place behind Doja, Casso, RAYE and D-Block Europe, and Kenya Grace.
22nd October - Kenya Grace - 'Strangers'
Doja Cat has been replaced by breakthrough star Kenya Grace! 'Strangers' is your new number 1 on the Hits UK Chart!
29th October - Taylor Swift - 'Cruel Summer'
Taylor Swift's 'Cruel Summer' has been hovering around the top of The Hits UK Chart for the last few weeks, but finally it's reached the top spot.
5th November - Kenya Grace - 'Strangers'
Kenya Grace returns to Number 1 on the Hits UK Chart after a week away.
12th November - The Beatles - 'Now and Then'
Topping the charts for the first time in several decades, The Beatles became Number 1 their song 'Now and Then'. The song was originally written and recorded by John Lennon in the 70s, with additional guitar parts recorded in 1995. The final track was put together in 2022 by the two remaining Beatles members Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr.
19th November - Dua Lipa - 'Houdini'
Dua Lipa huge song 'Houdini' has made it to Number 1. Dua spoke to us about the song saying: "I just love to play on words I loved... Houdini is an escape artist. And I think you know, for me at least, like the underlying story with it is like knowing your worth, knowing what you deserve, knowing when to stay and knowing when to Houdini."
26th November - Dua Lipa - 'Houdini'
Dua has done it again, with another week at the top of the Hits UK Chart!
3rd December - Jack Harlow - 'Lovin' On Me'
It's the first week at Number 1 for Jack Harlow on the Hits UK Chart. Jack's song 'Lovin' On Me' went viral on TikTok after it was teased back in October 2023, later being released on 10th November.
10th December - The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - 'Fairytale of New York'
The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl 'Fairytale of New York' became a Number 1 in the week of The Pogues singer Shane MacGowan's funeral. Shane sadly passed away in late November at the age of 65.
17th December - The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - 'Fairytale of New York'
As we near Christmas The Hits UK Chart is filling with Christmas songs, including Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' at Number 3, Wham!'s 'Last Christmas' at Number 2, and for the second week, The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl's 'Fairytale of New York'.
24th December - Wham! - 'Last Christmas'
The 2023 Christmas Number 1 was Wham!'s - 'Last Christmas'. As to be expected several classic Christmas songs returned to the Top 10 with Mariah Carey, The Pogues, Shakin' Stevens and Brenda Lee all returning to the charts.
As we look ahead for even more great songs over the coming months, we can expect new albums in 2024 from the likes of James Arthur and Tom Walker, along with tours from P!nk and Becky Hill. It looks like 2024 will be another great year for music.
