Ed Sheeran is no stranger to a chart-topping hit, even if he didn't originally plan to release some of them! Whether it's a solo tune, a collaboration or a song he's written for another artist, he's teamed up with some huge names in his time. Ed even released an album solely dedicated to the art of the collab: 'No.6 Collaborations Project', which includes appearances from the likes of Justin Bieber, Camila Cabello and Eminem (to name a few)!

Back in 2022, Ed wrote the comeback song for Lewis Capaldi called 'Pointless', so we've taken a look through some of the superstar's biggest collaborations involving plenty of high-profile artists. From Taylor Swift and Beyoncé to Wiley and Stormzy, Ed really knows how to make a hit...

Which other artists has Ed Sheeran worked with?

‘If I Could’ with Wiley

Released in 2011, this R&B grime tune cruised its way into the UK Charts. English rapper Wiley is no stranger to a chart hit, known for big tunes such as 'Wearing My Rolex' and 'Heatwave'.

‘Everything Has Changed’ and 'End Game' with Taylor Swift

Hitting the UK Top 10, 'Everything Has Changed' was certainly a collab to remember back in 2013. Teaming up with mega-star Taylor Swift again in 2017 with 'End Game', these two showed us they really know how to make a banger!

‘Lay It All on Me’ and ‘Bloodstream’ with Rudimental

Ed has joined forces with Rudimental several times, providing us with big hits including 'Lay It All On Me' and 'Bloodstream'. Both songs made it to the UK Top 20, with 'Bloodstream' hitting the impressive Number 2 spot.

‘Perfect Duet’ with Beyoncé

In 2017, Beyoncé and Ed went straight to the top of the charts with this gorgeous duet. The song was an acoustic version of Ed's smash-hit 'Perfect'.

‘Perfect Symphony’ and ‘This Is the Only Time’ with Andrea Bocelli

The re-imaginations of Ed's 'Perfect' didn't stop there! Teaming up with Italian singer-songwriter Andrea Bocelli, the pair released the 'Perfect Symphony', featuring stunning Italian vocals from both Andrea and Ed.

‘River’ with Eminem

In 2017, Ed joined forces with music giant Eminem with 'River'. The song was, undeniably, a HUGE hit, gliding its way to the Number 1 spot in the UK Charts.

‘I Don't Care’ with Justin Bieber

And who can forget this iconic collaboration between Ed and Justin Bieber? 2019 saw the pair team up to bring us the playful 'I Don't Care', which cruised to Number 1 in several countries, including the UK.

‘Best Part of Me’ with Yebba

Pairing up with American singer YEBBA, we were all gifted with the gorgeous song 'Best Part Of Me' in 2019. Abbey Smith, better known as YEBBA, has teamed up with other huge names in the past such as Mark Ronson, Sam Smith and Rudimental. The song has since been certified Gold.

‘Antisocial’ with Travis Scott

This lively bop was the product of an incredible collaboration between Ed and Travis Scott. Travis, known for hits like 'SICKO MODE' and 'BUTTERFLY EFFECT', has worked with other huge names such as Quavo, The Weeknd, Kanye West and The 1975.

‘South of the Border’ with Camila Cabello and Cardi B

Later in 2019 the singer joined forces with Camila Cabello and Cardi B to bring us 'South of the Border'. The spicy collab was incredibly popular with fans, hitting Number 4 in the UK Singles Chart.

'Take Me Back to London' and 'Own It' with Stormzy

'Take Me Back to London' saw the pair reach Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart, following the release of its remix. Fans went wild for the collaboration between the two, buzzing over Stormzy's vibrant energy mixing with Ed's melodic talents — so it's no wonder the song has been certified 3x Platinum. They teamed up once again for Stormzy's track 'Own It'.

'Merry Christmas' with Elton John

In 2021, Ed and Elton teamed up to create a Christmas track called 'Merry Christmas'. They also released a music video which includes scenes from different famous festive films.


The pair went on to work with social media influencer LadBaby to create a charity Christmas single called 'Sausage Rolls For Everyone'.

'The Joker and The Queen' with Taylor Swift

Ed Sheeran revealed in February 2022 that he was going to release a version of this song 'The Joker and The Queen' with Taylor Swift. The music video was released later that week.
The video sees Ava Ames and Jack Lewis reprise their roles nearly a decade after they first appeared in Taylor Swift's song 'Everything Has Changed' with Ed Sheeran.

'Bam Bam' with Camila Cabello

Camila teamed up with Ed again in 2022 on 'Bam Bam'. The catchy tune reached Number 7 in the UK Singles Chart.

'2Step' with Lil Baby

Lil Baby featured on a new version of Ed's album track '2Step'. The song's music video was recorded in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine before the war started.
Ed announced throughout May he would be sharing some 'incredible remixes' of the song, starting with one by the Ukrainian band Antytila.

'My G' with Aitch

Ed teamed up with Aitch on 'My G', which was released in August 2022. The song is dedicated to Aitch's younger sister, Gracie, with Aitch describing Ed as his sister's favourite artist.

Who were Ed Sheeran's first collaborations with?

Ed worked with none other Justin Bieber, with the pair announcing the news of their joint single 'I Don't Care' via some hilarious photos on Instagram.

He didn't exactly work with Lady Gaga - not yet anyway - but rumours were flying about that Ed Sheeran was mistaken for a waiter by Lady Gaga at the Grammy Awards 2015! Thankfully, it was all made up and the pair are good pals.

As well as his collab with Justin in 2019, Ed released his an album in July 2019 called 'No.6 Collaborations Project', which is made up of collaborations with some of the world's biggest artists, including Chance The Rapper.

In June 2021, Ed also dropped hints about a collaboration with Lewis Capaldi written during lockdown in 2020 - this has since been released as Lewis' single 'Pointless', appearing on his album 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent'.

Have Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift collaborated?

Yes! Pop superstars Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have worked together a number of times, namely on 'Everything Has Changed' in 2013 and 'End Game' from Taylor's sixth album 'Reputation' in 2017.

However, in February 2022 Ed's Instagram post sparked rumours the pair had another collaboration in the pipeline. Ed shared a photo of some CD covers he was signing saying: 'Signing some cds for something coming in a bit, keep an eye out'. (sic)

The pair did in fact collab on Ed's song 'The Joker and The Queen', with the song's video starring Ava Ames and Jack Lewis reprising their roles as young Ed and Taylor, nearly a decade after they first appeared in Taylor Swift's song 'Everything Has Changed' with Ed Sheeran. Cute!

Are Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift still friends?

Ed and Taylor Swift started hanging out in 2012 when the pair worked on 'Everything Has Changed', taken from her album 'Red'. Ed supported her on her 'Red' tour in 2013 and 2014. They remain good friends until this day!

In 2018, Taylor shared a video showing their sweet friendship. In the video, the pair joke about how Ed likes to 'peacock'. Taylor explained: "I just want to start by saying, this is what he does. He tries to elevate himself, just like geographically, so that he can seem better than me."

Ed Sheeran's friendship with Anne-Marie

Ed Sheeran's friendship with Courteney Cox

Ed is very good F.R.I.E.N.D.S with Courteney Cox! He has famously couch-surfed with quite a few famous faces, and stayed with Courteney while working on his second album 'x'. In a rather romantic twist of fate, Ed actually introduced her to her now-partner, Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid, who has co-written a few of Ed's tracks over the years.

The pair joined together with Sir Elton John to perform 'Tiny Dancer' for the Friends Reunion in June 2021.

Is Ed Sheeran working with Cradle Of Filth?

According to frontman Dani Filth, Ed has been working with Cradle of Filth on a new collaboration. There isn't a release date planned yet, and Dani revealed that things had been held up due to Ed's other work and personal commitments, but that the song was in the works.

Speaking about combining their styles of music, he added: "The clash of interests, the marriage of extremes, that's interesting in itself."

Has Ed collaborated with The Chainsmokers?

Ed joined The Chainsmokers on stage at a nightclub in Las Vegas, after he finished his last gig of the US leg of this tour. He sang some of his hits, as well as joining The Chainsmokers on their hit 'Closer'. Despite this, we don't know of an official collab, but fans are now calling for one!

Ed Sheeran and Elton John's Christmas collaboration

Ed and Elton teamed up in 2021 for their Number 1 Christmas song 'Merry Christmas'. The song celebrated its second anniversary in December 2023, and the pair decided to go and watch a football match together, watching their childhood teams, Ipswich Town and Watford FC.
