Home Alone fans spot crucial detail explaining why Kevin was left behind

HOW DID WE MISS THIS?! 😲

Unbelievably, 2020 marks a massive 30 years since the first Home Alone film was released, featuring 10-year-old child star Macaulay Culkin as the now iconic character of Kevin McCallister.

Every year since 1990, Home Alone and of course Home Alone 2, have become a Christmas staple, with fans of the hit movie watching it over and over again (we've seen it at least 300 times now).

Despite this, fans of the movie are only just noticing a critical moment which seemingly explains the reason why nobody noticed poor Kevin was left behind as the family took a Christmas trip to Paris.

As you probably already know, Kevin gets sent to his room after a disagreement with his older brother Buzz results in some fizzy drinks getting split all over the table.

As Kevin's dad Peter scoops up everything in sight to clean the table and avoid further damage, eagle-eyed fans are now only just noticing that Kevin's plane ticket is also placed into the bin!

Fans were quick to comment on social media, one user wrote, 'Watching Home Alone for the 50th time and I’ve never noticed that in the starting scene when there is a fight in the kitchen, Kevin’s ticket is put in the bin. Who knew? '. (sic)

Another added, 'Wow. Never noticed, we'll be watching it again ... and I'll get everyone to pick up on this'. (sic)

A third added, 'Well spotted. I've seen it throughout my entire childhood and even now, at 33, I didn't knew that.' (sic)

So, although it's absolutely no excuse for leaving poor Kevin at home to fight off the 'Wet Bandits', it does kind of explain the reason why they didn't notice for so long! 🙈
