Former One Direction star, solo artist and actor Harry Styles joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Eros, the brother of Thanos, in 2021 as he made his first appearance in the film Eternals.

In 2022, Harry addressed his future with Marvel, discussing whether he will reprise his role, and this year, co-producer of the film, Nate Moore, has opened up about Harry's involvement.

When asked by Crew Call, a podcast produced by Deadline, if Harry's involvement was "just a stunt", Nate explained it wasn't, saying the production team: "Certainly didn’t cast Harry for a tag."

Opening up about Harry's character Starfox, he said: "There are more stories to be told with that character. He’s fascinating. He has a really interesting connection with Thanos - they’re half-brothers, they share the same father. He has an interesting power set… he’s a complicated character, but a really fun character."

Nate finished off by saying: "I think there’s no limit to how popular that character’s gonna be once we get to bring him back."

When did Harry Styles appear in Eternals?

In true Marvel style, those watching the film were treated to an after-credits scene, in which Harry appeared as Eros, also known as Starfox, with his small companion Pip. Speaking to Rolling Stone UK, in 2022, about his future in the MCU, the singer laughed: "It'd be funny if that was it, wouldn't it?"

Despite some-what confirming that we will be seeing him appear as Eros again, Harry did reveal that he doesn't think he will be reprising his role in the near future, adding: "I don't imagine I'd do a movie for a while."

Explaining that he is currently focusing on his music, the 'Watermelon Sugar' singer added: "I think there'll be a time again when I’ll crave it. But when you're making music, something's happening. It feels really creative, and it feeds stuff.

"A large part of acting is the doing nothing, waiting thing. Which if that's the worst part, then it's a pretty good job. But I don't find that section of it to be that fulfilling. I like doing it in the moment, but I don't think I'll do it a lot."

Will Harry Styles be in another Marvel film?

Harry's comments came just months after Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, also confirmed that we haven't seen the last of the 'As It Was' singer!

Speaking at San Diego's 2022 Comic-Con back in July, Kevin told the audience: "The adventures of Eros and Pip is something that is very exciting for us," however he stopped short of revealing what projects he might be appearing in.

Responding to Ryan Gosling reportedly wanting to play Ghost Rider, he continued: "You’re talking about Ghost Rider, we’ve got Blade, we’ve got Doctor Strange with the supernatural angles. We’ve got the street-level with our announcement of Daredevil and of course Spidey, going into the street-level heroes. And cosmic. And that’s where our friends Eros and Pip live."

Several Marvel titles have been announced up to 2025 for Phases five and six of the iconic franchise, but despite many fans hoping for an Eternals 2, it has not yet been confirmed, although Eternals director Chloé Zhao previously admitted that Harry Styles was the only person she wanted to play Eros.

However, it has been announced that Phase five will begin with Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantamania in February 2023, including six films and six series, finshing with Thunderbolts in mid-2024.

Then in 2025, a reboot of Fantastic Four and two Avengers movies – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released as part of Phase six.

Eternals was directed by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao, as part of the fourth phase of the MCU, and it featured immortal aliens who have been secretly living on Earth for thousands of years waiting for the right moment to jump into action.

The cast included Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Kit Harington and Salma Hayek.

Then, in January 2023, the film's co-producer Nate Moore said that Harry's character in Eternals was a very interesting character and he couldn't wait to bring him back.

Harry made his big acting debut in Dunkirk in 2017 and in 2022 he finished filming The Policeman alongside The Crown star Emma Corrin. He also appeared in the upcoming psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling, directed by Olivia Wilde.

Now take a look through films and TV shows Harry Styles features in:

So we know there's no acting involved in this one, but One Direction had their fair share of concert films. As well as 2013's One Direction This Is Us (a 3D documentary concert film), they also had One Direction: Where We Are – The Concert Film in 2014.

Family Guy (2016)

The ultimate honour - having yourself turned into a cartoon to feature on the hilarious animated show Family Guy. Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Harry Styles all appeared in a scene alongside Stewie Griffin, with both Louis and Liam's real voices featuring. The episode aired in 2016, which avid fans may notice due to Harry's signature long locks.

Dunkirk (2017)

In 2017, Harry took on a more serious role in the war film Dunkirk. Making his movie debut, Harry played the role of Alex, with the film director claiming the singer has an "old-fashioned face".

The Late Late Show with James Corden (2017/2019)

Harry appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2017 and 2019. Both times he appeared a guest host on the show, the first time was very last minute as James Corden's wife went into labour giving Harry just 2.5 hours notice to fill in!

Eternals (2021)

Harry caused quite the stir when he was featured in the end credits of Marvel film Eternals, with many excited at the prospect of him entering the Marvel universe. Introduced briefly as Eros, brother of Thanos, fans can't wait to see Harry return in later films.
