Pop star Ed Sheeran has already starred in a number of TV shows and films, and now it seems he could be about to star in a new film from Trainspotting director Danny Boyle.

The Daily Mail is reporting that the 'Shape of You' singer is in talks to appear in a new comedy about the Beatles which is written by Richard Curtis, the British screenwriter known for his work on Notting Hill, Bridget Jones's Diary and Love Actually.

According to the Daily Mail the comedy is about a busker who wakes up to find out he is the only person who remembers the Beatles. Although at present it isn't clear what part Ed would be playing, it is understood it would be a leading role! And if that wasn't enough he would also write some new music for the film.

An unnamed source close to Working Title, the studio making the film said, "Everything Ed touches turns to gold.

"He is the biggest hitmaker on the planet. If anyone can make a film about the Beatles songs even better musically, it's him."

Ed has made no secret of the fact that he is a fan of the Beatles, and in 2014 he took part in a GRAMMYs tribute to the band, which received great reviews from Paul McCartney. Ed also owns a guitar given to him by Sir Paul.

Last year Ed Sheeran was one of the biggest selling artists.

Ed had a massive comeback in the music industry, having had a year out, however, since his music comeback, he has also appeared in a couple of TV shows, Game of Thrones and The Simpsons.

In Game of Thrones Ed starred in a scene with Maisie William’s character Arya Stark. As Arya rides past a group of soldiers (including Ed) she remarks “It’s a pretty song, I’ve never heard it before” to which Ed replies “It’s a new one”.

Then, earlier this year an episode of the long-running animation The Simpsons, was aired starring Ed's voice. Ed first announced his appearance back in July when he commented, 'This year continues to be equally surreal and amazing. Watch out for this one, me and Lisa have a whole thing going on'.

Meanwhile, away from music Ed Sheeran has featured on a commemorative plate for the upcoming Royal wedding. Last week it was revealed that a plate being sold on craft website Etsy, featured Ed Sheeran in place of Prince Harry, next to Meghan Markle.

Dailymail.co.uk reported the seller Lucy has explained that using Ed Sheeran's photo is totally intentional. She said it was inspired by a commemorative mug that featured Prince Harry instead of Prince William for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding in 2011.
