Pop star Zayn Malik has recently been spotted leaving a New York studio with a lightsaber! Yes, you read that correctly, the former One Direction star was channelling his inner Jedi when he was spotted holding a green lightsaber, as he made his way past gathered press and fans.

Although there is no explanation as to why he is carrying a lightsaber, it was only yesterday that Zayn teased some new music on Instagram.

He uploaded a photo of himself lit by what looks like the same lightsaber, accompanied by a poem, which read,

'There is no meaning it's just aesthetics. Then to ask me, I'd say pathetic is the only one that fits and wins inside a world of acronyms. Twisted shapes of acrobats inside a mesh of flesh and bone is an underlying desperate tone to the world of real authentic the iPhone likes preventing this place of role play.'

Zayn then signed the poem with his name and the date, immediately exciting fans at the prospect of new music.

Fans are already looking forward to hearing more from the 'Pillowtalk' singer, with one excitedly commenting, 'Amazayn one bro' sic and another simply saying, '💖💖💖💖.

Zayn's last single was back in September, when he reached the top 5 in the UK with his collaboration with Sia, 'Dusk Till Dawn'.
