Just when we thought we were going to have to wait for Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson's oh-so-dramatic break-up to play out on Made in Chelsea, the former Love Island star's penned a letter to her ex-boyfriend; apologising for the 'pain and embarrassment' she's caused him.

After it came to light that Zara had 'cheated' on Sam with music mogul-type Brahim Fouradi during her stint on The X Factor: Celebrity with No Love Lost last year, she's finally admitted her 'huge mistake' and asked for forgiveness.

Writing a heartfelt message to Sam via Instagram, Zara said, 'Hey everyone, I just wanted to address the recent speculation in the media.

'A huge mistake I made a year ago has recently come to light and I want to face this head on.

'I don't condone being unfaithful and I made a huge mistake at a time in my life where I was hugely selfish and immature.

'I believe I have learnt so much from my mistake.

'I want to apologise to my Sam for everything I have put him through, for the pain, the embarrassment, the anger and the hurt.'

Zara continued, 'All I want to do is make this right and I think the least he deserves is me being honest with myself and all of you.

'I love you Sam. Forever.' (sic)

Well the scene's certainly been set for the inevitable Made in Chelsea showdown!

1. Jamie Laing and Louise Thompson

Remember when Jamie and Louise dated (much to Spencer's dismay) in 2012. Louise then left Jamie for Spencer, causing a very traumatic love triangle indeed. Poor Jamie.

This all comes after Sam's best mate and former Celebs Go Dating co-star Pete Wicks revealed how he's really getting on following the split.

Speaking to heat, Pete spilled, "He’s doing well. He’s a good guy. He’s sensitive and I think it was all a bit of a shock but he’s doing well. He’s still young and he’s a catch so he’s got his whole life ahead of him. The world is his oyster."

Made In Chelsea continues every Monday night on E4.
