Marvel actor Tom Hiddleston and Fresh Meat actress Zawe Ashton have now confirmed that they are engaged. The pair appeared as husband and wife in the play Betrayal in 2019 and they are now set to get married in real life!
The news of their engagement first broke when the couple appeared at the 2022 EE BAFTA Awards on Sunday 13th March, and while Zawe kept her hand concealed by her bag on the red carpet, the engagement ring was revealed in photos posted by her friend AJ Ododu.
AJ posted a series of snaps from the night on her Instagram and included a group photo with the couple, where Zawe's sparkling ring can clearly be seen.
Now, Tom has confirmed the lovely news during an interview with the LA Times in June, saying: "I'm very happy".
Tom and Zawe have been together for a few years, and rumours that they were dating first started flying after they performed on stage together. The two were then seen at the US Open together not long after, which added fuel to the fire. The couple officially went public in 2021 at the Tony Awards, and have been loved up ever since.
In February 2021, it was revealed that Zawe would be joining her beau in the Marvel universe as she is set to join the cast of The Marvels alongside Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel. Tom has appeared as lovable villain Loki in the franchise, and Zawe will also take on a villainous role in the upcoming film.
