Singer Tom Grennan is currently on tour in Australia and has been talking to Australian media. During his interview with Rolling Stone Australia /NZ, Tom revealed that his girlfriend Danniella is now his fiancée and went on to say: "The engagement only happened the other day."

Tom has kept his relationship with his dancer girlfriend fairly private but talked about how reconnecting with her was the inspiration for this new song 'Remind Me'.

Speaking about the meaning behind his new track, Tom said: "I wanted to write a song that reminded me of a moment in my life where I realised I had given up something that was really making a difference in my life – in a good way. It’s about re-connecting. It’s that feeling when you’re at the top of the rollercoaster and you’re like: this is the best feeling."

The song, which he describes as a 'catchy summer banger' dropped on 18th March, and he opened up about creating the track: "When I was writing, it was about reconnecting with somebody special. Now we’re back together, and I’m in love. She’s amazing, somebody who has changed my life completely. She’s my best mate."

It hit me hard watching him comprehend what had happened, trying to compute the madness and sadness of his new world now that his mum whom he loved so dearly had passed.
"It triggered memories for me of the loss of my cousin and best friend Alan when I was just a teenager, it broke so many of us. The song unravelled from me quite quickly. It was cathartic on many levels, thoughts of loss and heartbreak, dealing with the grief of death, or the breakdown of a relationship or friendship.
"These are all things that seem to have dominated my life in recent years, but sadly never get any easier to navigate. I'm grateful that the passing of time allows us to look back and remember the good times."
