Tich is In:Demand

Tich dropped in to In:Demand to talk about her song-writing idol, supporting Olly Murs on tour and the meaning behind her single Dumb. Alex firstly asked Tich the standard In:Demand mobile phone questions, including what her most recent mobile phone Internet search was, "It sounds a bit loserish... authentic stollen recipe. I do like to cook, I'm a very creative person and I'm also a feeder, I've been diagnosed. I'll cook like seven meals, if I have a day off I'll cook like everything and I'll get all of my friends to come round and watch them eat.", she said. Speaking about her main influences in the music world, Tich said, "Max Martin, he is my everything. Basically if you don't know who Max Martin is, look him up, he's basically written every incredible pop song from 1993 to present day. He's a song-writing god." Tich goes on to explain the meaning behind her single, Dumb, "I've never been truly great with relationships. I'm very focused on what I do. I was going out with this guy in my first proper relationship and he told me that he loved me and I ended it because that's just never happened to me. Then I just thought 'That's so stupid' and I remember walking around my flat going 'You're so dumb!' talking to myself. "I had a session with my best friends who are also writers and I was literally reeling off everything and I basically said the lyrics in that one go and we basically finished it in half an hour. It was a complete release of everything I felt." Tich performing live for In:Demand

As part of her trip to In:Demand we asked Tich to perform a session for us. She chose to do a cover of Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble so Alex asked why she picked that song. "Because it's an incredible song; Max wrote it and I just think, to sing it, is one of the most enjoyable songs. I wish I'd written it. It's like a yodel!" she said. Alex then asked Tich about supporting Olly Murs on his tour. She said, "It was the best two months of my life. To be thrown on to an arena every single night and to see how everything works has opened my eyes to everything. It's really, really tough and I learned a lot about myself. He was incredible and Loveable Rogues were on it too - so funny. "We just had the best time. The last night of the O2 was my last show.
