Music mogul and judge of The X Factor, Simon Cowell, has taken to his social media accounts to update fans following an incident which resulted in the 60-year-old breaking his back in three places and requiring surgery.
The dad-of-one was rushed to hospital on Saturday after falling off his electric bike whilst testing it out in his Malibu home, and after undergoing a six-hour surgery, Simon has now updated his fan base.
Posting on his Twitter account, Simon joked, 'Some good advice... If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time.I have broken part of my back. Thank you to everyone for your kind messages.'
Simon then went on to thank all of the professionals who have been caring for him in hospital, adding, 'And a massive thank you to all the nurses and doctors. Some of the nicest people I have ever met. Stay safe everyone. Simon.' (sic)
Fans were quick to comment on Simon's update, sending their well wishes to the 60-year-old following his accident.
One commented, 'Sending you positive and healing energy!!', with another adding, Sending you lots of love!'
Simon's old colleague Piers Morgan also commented, cheekily adding, 'Stick to that Zimmer Frame I got you in future - it's more age-appropriate. Glad you're through to the next round.' (sic)
It's being reported that the six-hour operation included the insertion of a metal rod into Simon's back, with the Britain's Got Talent judge now recovering in hospital.
