Sam Asghari confirms he's split from wife Britney Spears in new statement
The couple are getting a divorce following a 14-month marriage
Following reports earlier this week that Britney Spears and her husband of 14-months Sam Asghari had split, 29-year-old Sam has now released a statement to confirm the rumours.
The model took to Instagram to share the news with his three million followers, writing: 'After six years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together.
'We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. S--- happens. Asking for privacy seems ridiculous so I will ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.' (sic)
Sam's brief statement comes just hours after reports suggested he'd filed for a divorce from 'Hold Me Closer' singer Britney, with a source suggesting he'd also moved out of their luxury home in Los Angeles.
At the time of publication, 39-year-old Britney is yet to publicly speak about the split, instead posting a picture of herself on a horse.
