Olly Murs cancels Summer shows following major surgery

Pop star Olly Murs has been forced to cancel his upcoming Summer shows after undergoing major knee surgery last week.

The 'Troublemaker' singer took to his social media pages to announce the disappointing news, revealing he is currently recovering in hospital following the surgery. Alongside a number of photos of himself on crutches and in a knee brace, Olly wrote: 'I am gutted to have to write this message but unfortunately I’ve had to undergo major new knee surgery again this week 🤦🏻‍♂️😩

'Been trying my best to avoid having it done but the op was needed and it went well. I’m recovering in hospital but it means I’m having to cancel all my summer shows this year whilst I focus on my rehab.' (sic)

The 37-year-old went on to reveal all tickets will be refunded, with Olly going on to apologise to his fans for cancelling the shows.

He added: 'Refunds will all be available from your point of purchase and please keep an eye out for any emails from your ticketing agent over the next few days. I’m so bloody sorry but my focus now is on recovering and I’ll keep you all updated on how I’m getting on! Stay cheeky catch you soon👍🏻❤️😘'. (sic)

Fans and friends were quick to comment on the post sending their well wishes to Olly.

Love Island host Laura Whitmore wrote: 'Ah Olly! Ya poor thing, rest up and get yourself better. Sending all the good vibes xxx'. (sic)

Chunkz added: 'Get well soon ma brother, health comes first! ❤️', with James Bay writing: 'Get rested lad, all the best! ♥️'. (sic)

Jake Quickenden then wrote: 'Argh mate hope you’re ok… get fit for @socceraid mate', with JLS star Marvin Humes adding: 'Speedy recovery bro ❤️'.

Sam Ryder announced his 'There's Nothing But Space, Man!' tour in the summer of 2022. It will be his biggest tour to date and will see him performing across the UK, starting in Belfast on 17th March 2023, ending in Brighton on 5th April 2023.

KT Tunstall

To promote her new album 'NUT', Scottish singer KT Tunstall is doing a 16-date tour across the UK in February and March 2023.

Harry Styles

Mimi Webb

Mimi Webb has announced a UK and Ireland tour for April 2023, playing 14 dates. Tickets went on sale on Thursday 20th October from Aloud.com.

Olly Murs

Making his return to music, Olly Murs delighted fans by announcing he's heading back out on tour in April-May 2023, with dates in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and more.

Taylor Swift

In the lead-up to her 'Midnights' album being released on 21st October, the official Taylor Swift website confirmed that the singer would be heading on a UK tour.


Although no exact dates were announced, they did reveal that fans that pre-ordered the album through the website would get an access code for the tour ticket pre-sale.

Lewis Capaldi

Following on from his return to music with 'Forget Me', Lewis Capaldi revealed his second album 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent' would be released on 19th May. At the same time, he revealed he would be heading on tour across the UK in January and February 2023.

Sam Smith

Alongside the announcement of their upcoming album 'Gloria', Sam Smith revealed they are heading out on tour in April-May 2023, performing dates in Sheffield, London, Glasgow, Birmingham, and Manchester. Tickets are now on sale from Aloud.com.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 are heading on tour across Europe and the UK in 2023. They have a huge show at The O2 in London on 3rd July.

Diversity - 'Supernova'

Britain's most-successful dance group, Diversity will be taking their all-new 'Supernova' tour on a 64-date run around the UK in 2023 and 2024.

Joel Corry - 2023 tour

Joel Corry will embark on his biggest tour yet in 2023, performing Belfast, Glasgow, and Cardiff, amongst other places.

Sugababes

Following their amazing reunion tour over the summer, the Sugababes are back for a huge show at The O2 in London. They'll be playing one night only on Friday 15th September 2023.

Starstruck host Olly was due to play a number of dates around the UK in June, July, August and September this year, including venues in Belfast, London, Northampton, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Leeds, Norwich, Old Milton, Bath, Warwick, Cardiff, Carlisle, Newcastle, Exeter, Inverness, Taunton, Stoke, Colwyn Bay and Haydock Park.

Back in 2019, Olly took a social media break as he recovered from ACL surgery and just last year, the Essex lad was forced to undergo further surgery after injuring his knee during a gig, where a fragment of bone lodged on the back of his leg.
