Miley Cyrus reveals the inspiration behind the single 'Midnight Sky'

Miley Cyrus joined Boogie and Arlene on their Saturday Show (19th September), when the MFR presenters found out more about her new song 'Midnight Sky', the inspirations behind it and what she hopes her fans will feel after hearing it.
Speaking to Boogie and Arlene, Miley revealed that her latest song was inspired by a big night out before the lockdown started. "At the top of 2020, I actually kinda started writing this song about one of my last nights out before we all went into lockdown. I went to this place that had like 400 disco balls on the ceiling..."
The singer went on to explain how she then hung out with her producer and after that everything was locked down. When they were reunited in the studio three months later, Miley recalled, "We almost wrote this song about this reality that we had, but also the fantasy of what it was like to just be free in the world again."
Miley also revealed she loves a list and told us what was on her list. The singer explained today is definitely not her "reality" as she'll be doing a lot of interviews over Zoom from her house, including talkshow host Jimmy Fallon! Of course, she'd much rather be visiting the radio stations to promote her song.
Miley went on to reveal that she likes to have things on her list that can help her towards her end goal, explaining, "Usually my list would be something about doing something that I do today to get towards a goal... so, what's one or two things you can do everyday that gets to you to your end goal?
"I really love writing down what I want and cross-checking with myself," Miley continued.
Getting pretty deep, Miley explained that one of her goals was to feel comfortable being alone. Adding that she also had some other things on her list such as calling her therapist, and doing something for her mum, as her grandmother had recently passed away.
