Michael Douglas: 'My 14-year-old son told me to do Ant-Man!'

Movie legend Michael Douglas has exclusively told In:Demand Showbiz that it was his 14-year-old son Dylan who persuaded him to star in Ant-Man.
Based on the DC Comics of the same name, Michael plays scientist Hank Pym who discovers the subatomic particles that make Ant-Man's transformation possible and later persuades Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) to take over the Ant-Man mantle.
Admitting he’s “not a comic guy at all”, 70-year-old Michael says it was his teenage son with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Dylan, who compelled him to star in the blockbuster.
He told us: “I’ve never gotten a Marvel superhero film across my desk, which has disappointed me. My dear friends Jack Nicholson and Danny DeVito talk about when they did The Joker and The Penguin and how much fun it was.
“So when (the Ant-Man script) came, I’m not a comic guy at all, it also came with two years of the Ant-Man comics, I began to read about the background of Hank Pym.
“Then my son Dylan, he’s 14, came in and saw me looking and said ‘why are you looking at this?’ I said ‘well there’s this movie’ and he took it away from me and says ‘Dad, look at me. You’ve GOT to do this movie. Just do it!’ So I took his advice!
“He should be (my manager)! I think that’s what he’s leaning for.”
