Stars of Married At First Sight Australia Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli are officially engaged. They announced the news over on their Instagram pages on Sunday with a joint post.

The caption read 'Mrs B' and saw Martha flashing her diamond ring. Although many MAFS couples relationships didn't last the show, let alone the period after leaving, Martha and Michael have powered through and their relationship is stronger than ever.

The two met on MAFS Australia back in 2019, and since then their relationship has really went from strength to strength. Compared to other couples on the show at the time, Martha and Michael's relationship was refreshingly drama-free. This engagement, therefore, will come as no surprise to fans of the show.

Both Martha and Michael have since posted a slew of other photos showing off the lovely diamond ring. In the second post on her Instagram, Martha captioned it 'Sorry in advance for the spam, but we're so excited ❤️‍🔥' . And we really can't blame them for wanting to share the amazing news (and the ring) with the world.

Their celebrity friends were quick to congratulate the couple, with Australian TV and radio presenter Chrissie Swan commenting 'Congrats lovers! 😍', and Love Island Australia star Amelia Marni commenting 'SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!!!! congrats 😍😍😍😍😍😍'.

The news may come as a surprise to some given that they were already "married" on the show - it's literally in the name of the show. Martha was quick to clear up any confusion on Instagram. When someone expressed their confusion at the news in a comment on one of Michael's posts, Martha replied 'Mafs weddings are a 'commitment ceremony'. We were not married on the show'.

It is unclear when they are planning to get married as the announcement came so recently, but we are sure that as with their engagement, their Instagram followers will be the first to hear when they officially tie the knot. As with the various pictures of the engagement ring, we are sure there will be many pictures of Martha in her wedding dress to follow.
