Justin Timberlake releases apology statement to family after photos with co-star
He was photographed with Alisha Wainwright
Justin Timberlake has released a public apology to his family and specifically his wife, Jessica Biel, after he was photographed looking very close to his co-star, Alisha Wainwright. The pair, who are working on new film Palmer together, were spotted holding hands with Alisha touching Justin's knee before stroking his leg.
The former *NSYNC singer, who married Jessica in 2012, has denied that anything happened between himself and his co-star, but has apologised for a 'strong lapse in judgement'.
Justin shared a statement to his Instagram profile, writing, 'I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumours that are hurting the people I love.
'A few weeks ago, I displayed a strong lapse in judgement - but let me be clear - nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behaviour. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son.
'I apologise to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it.'
Justin and Alisha are working together on upcoming film Palmer, about a former college footballer who falls on hard times and tries to get his life back on track.
