INTERVIEW: BRIT Award winner, James Bay
James Bay, this year's BRITs Critics' Choice winner dropped in.
James Bay, this year's BRITs Critics' Choice winner has been telling us that he's in awe of the other artists who have won the award. Previous winners of the award include Adele, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J all of whom have had huge success in their own right. Last year's winner, Sam Smith is still riding high and has walked away with four Grammys and two BRITs in the last month. Bay told us he thought this year the awards had been rather male dominated with Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith scooping the big prizes, so he wanted to mix it up with perhaps "a collaboration", although there were no hints as to with whom. For some the new found fame can be difficult to cope with, but Bay is taking it in his stride, as he told us one of his young fans said, "I recognised you by your shoes!". When asked about his hat he said, "I certainly won't wear it forever, I kinda chose a couple of years ago to make it a temporary trademark." Bay released one top ten UK single last year, 'Hold Back The River', but is hotly tipped to return to the top of the UK charts this coming year.
