So, if you're a fan of scrolling through the Internet, you'll have no doubt seen by now the buzz surrounding Harry Styles' upcoming film Don't Worry Darling, directed by his girlfriend Olivia Wilde. Now, following a 'ridiculous' rumour that Harry Styles 'spat' at his co-star Chris Pine at the film's premiere, Chris' representative has set the record straight on exactly what went down.

As well as previous talk about 'tensions' between the cast members, the latest Don't Worry Darling drama involved a rumour that Harry 'spat' at Chris, while taking his seat at the film's premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. Chris' rep has now slammed the rumours, deeming them 'ridiculous' and 'foolish speculation'.

In a statement obtained by Variety, Chris Pine's rep wrote: 'This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation.

'Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.'

As well as his rep's statement, fans online have also been trying to clear up just what happened between Chris and Harry - with many convinced that Chris in fact dropped his marker pen, resulting in marking his beige trousers.

If you've been following Don't Worry Darling up to its release, you'll be aware of the alleged 'tensions' between Olivia Wilde and starring actress Florence Pugh. During the Venice International Film Festival premiere for the psychological thriller, Olivia was asked to 'clear the air' on the matter.

Olivia responded: "Florence is a force. We are so grateful she's able to make it tonight despite being in production on Dune. I know, as a director, how disruptive it is to lose an actor even for a day, so I'm very grateful to her, and to Denis Villeneuve for helping us. And we'll get to celebrate her work tonight.

"I can't say how honoured I am to have her as our lead. She's amazing. As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, the internet feeds itself. I don't feel the need to contribute. I think it's sufficiently well-nourished."

Don't Worry Darling release date
