Mark, who is due to face trial in July for grievous bodily harm and assault - which he denies - spoke about his year of 'highest highs and lowest lows' as he announced his engagement to Laura, who he has been dating for nearly four years.
He wrote, 'Well 2018 had some of the highest highs and the lowest lows. Really got to feel the love of true friends . Feel blessed by the support of my children and elated to have heard the word “yes “ from the most beautiful woman in the world.'
Although Laura has yet to tweet anything about the news, she has been liking messages of congratulations from fans, who have sent their support to the couple.
Mark opened up about his romance with Laura to the Daily Record, saying, "My kids adore her. We are a good family unit. She adores my kids, I’m loving work. I love this character and who I’m working with and have got the most beautiful girlfriend. My life could not be any better."
