Ed Sheeran has donated some very unusual items to charity
It's not quite a 'Lego House'
Last updated 21st Jun 2018
Pop star Ed Sheeran isn't afraid to help charities where he can, in the past he has donated a number of items over the years, but now it's emerged that he has donated some very unusual items to a charity close to his hometown of Framlingham, Suffolk.
According to the East Anglian Daily Times the 'Castle On The Hill' singer has donated a Lego self portrait which was created by the singer on tour. Other donations from Ed include clothes, music books and his first record player, along with a number of other Lego creations from his tour bus.
This isn't the first time that Ed has donated to the St Elizabeth Hospice shop in Framlingham. The shop manager Rachail Pollard said that the donations Ed has given tended to attract tourists to the shop. As well as stocking the items from Ed, charity shop also has jewellery made by Ed's mum.
Speaking to the BBC a spokesperson for the charity said that every now and then Ed has a clear out and donates some of his items.
She added, “As Framlingham is his local shop, he thinks of us. Normally it is a few jumpers and Hoax T-shirts he wears on tour, which are great, but this time we got the head.”
The hospice also took to Twitter to thank the pop star saying, 'What does international superstar @edsheeran get up to on tour? Well he makes a self portrait out of Lego of course. The Castle on the Hill singer has since donated this to St Elizabeth Hospice and we're so very grateful. What do you think we should do with it?'.
At present no one has replied with any suggestions, but no doubt in time Ed's fans will be flocking to the charity shop to get a glimpse of the 'Lego head'.
Ed Sheeran is known for his love for Lego and even admitted in an interview that he took some with him on a date! He once said that when his album went to number 1 he bought the Death Star Lego kit! Nice!
Back in 2011 Ed also released a song called 'Lego House' which reached the top 5 in the UK and was a hit around the world and has since had 241 million views on YouTube. You can watch the music video to 'Lego House' below.
