Congratulations are in order for Boyzone singer Mikey Graham, as the 49-year-old has become a grandad for the first time!

'Picture Of You' singer Mikey took to social media to reveal his oldest daughter Hannah, 25, gave birth to a baby girl called Bonnie at the start of February, revealing both mum and baby are doing very well.

He said on Twitter: 'Well guys hope your all doing well. Thankfully life has been nothing but wonderful to me the last three weeks since the birth of my absolutely stunningly beautiful granddaughter BONNIE. My eldest daughter Hannah brought her into the world on February 2nd & all is well. 🙏🏻👶🏼❤️

'Thank you so much for all the lovely comments. As you you know I tend to be a very private man but I had to share this good news with all you wonderful fans. Nice to have some good news to share for a change. X🙏🏻❤️👶🏼'. (sic)

Mikey later joked: 'Think I might possibly be the first boyband grandad even going back as far as the New kids on the block. Lol. Some one else can fact check that one.👍🏼'. (sic)

Boyzone fans were quick to comment on the cute announcement, with many sending lovely messages to Mikey and his family.

One fan wrote: 'Congratulations to you and your family Mikey , lovely to hear some good news amongst all the bleakness in the world, though its now made me feel old that Hannah is of such an age, and that your old enough to be a grandad! enjoy every moment'. (sic)

Another wrote: 'Awww how lovely! However I for one don’t believe you are old enough to be a grandad hehe coolest grandad about for sure xx'. (sic)

A third then added: 'No feeling like that of knowing the child you bought into the World has now bought their own child into the World. Grandchildren are worth every tear you cried over their parent. Congratulations to you all xxx'. (sic)
