We're just a couple of days away from International Women's Day 2024, which takes place on 8th March, and to celebrate the annual day several celebrities have been announced to get their own Barbies.

This year eight Barbie role models from around the world have been announced, including British actress Dame Helen Mirren, Australian singer Kylie Minogue and Canadian singer Shania Twain.

Dame Helen's Barbie can be seen wearing a beautiful long blue dress which is based on the dress she wore to the 2023 Cannes red carpet. The doll also carries a miniature blue fan – one of Helen’s trademark red carpet accessories – and a tiny Oscar statue, representing her 2007 Academy Awards Best Actress win.

Speaking about her new Barbie, Dame Helen said: "I am absolutely blown away by my Barbie. To be chosen by Barbie as a Role Model is a huge compliment, and something I would never have imagined in my wildest dreams happening to me at this stage in my life.

"It's a very special thing, and something I can add to my list of my favourite achievements; becoming a Dame of the British Empire, having an Oscar, having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - and having my own Barbie!"

Pop superstar Kylie has also been honoured with a Barbie wearing a stunning red outfit, with a long red cape, fitting with her 'Padam Padam' era. The singer is the only female artist to have a Number 1 album in the UK in five consecutive decades, and recently picked up the Global Icon Award at the 2024 BRIT Awards.

Other role models including Viola Davis, an artist from the USA, Lila Avilés, a director form Mexico, Maira Gomez, a content creator from Brazil, Nicole Fujita, a model from Japan and Enissa Amani, a comedian from Germany.
